Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Disability Rights Coalition of Nova Scotia’s Annual General Meeting last week. It was wonderful to have so many members, friends, and supporters come together both virtually and in person.

We’re pleased to share our Annual Report for 2025–26, which offers a snapshot of the DRC’s work over the past year and some of the important work still ahead.

Read the Annual Report here: https://canva.link/giw27zmpb82h43g

We also want to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who put their name forward to serve on the DRC Board of Directors. We are grateful for your interest, your willingness to contribute, and your commitment to this work.

And a very warm welcome to our newest Board members: Kathy Smith, Rob Power, Coryn Stehouwer, and Phoebe Johnston. We’re so pleased to have you joining us!

There is important work ahead, and we’re grateful to have such a strong community of people who care deeply about advancing the rights, inclusion, and full participation of persons with disabilities in Nova Scotia.

**FINAL** CALL FOR NOMINATIONS — DRC BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The Disability Rights Coalition is seeking nominations for our 2026–2027 Board of Directors.

Serving on the DRC Board is an opportunity to help advance disability rights and contribute to lasting change for persons with disabilities across Nova Scotia.

The DRC is currently entirely volunteer-run, so Board members play an active role—not only in governance, but in moving our work forward. We are looking for people who are committed to human rights, inclusion, choice, belonging and a good life in community and who are prepared to contribute actively.

Individual DRC members may apply, or you may nominate someone you believe would make a strong contribution to the Board.

Nominations close Monday, September 21.
