Dutch Society of Nova Scotia

Dutch Society of Nova Scotia This gezellige Society, an informal group, bridges the gap between Canada and Dutch speaking countries.

We post about social norms, food, languages, architecture, cities, people and more. We empower, educate and help communities of Nova Scotia and Atlantic Canada. We find ways to genuinely connect with our community through unique initiatives, programs and content inspired by Dutch-related cultures and languages*. As a group of volunteers, we bridge the understanding gap between Canada and Dutch-spe

aking countries including the Netherlands in terms of culture, language and social values. Gezellig is one Dutch word that describes us well as a community. Dutch Society of Nova Scotia (DSNS) is formerly known as Dalhousie Dutch Society, where it was established and ratified in 2015 as a student society at Dalhousie University. Currently, DSNS is an informal group of volunteers (“Contributors”) promoting friendship and cultural exchange between Canada and the Netherlands.
