Happy International Trails Day! 🌳☀️

Nova Scotia is criss-crossed with thousands of kilometres of beautiful trails that we use and enjoy in our own ways every single day.

These trails simply would not exist if it weren’t for the amazing volunteers who dedicate their time and energy to build, maintain, and advocate for them day in and day out. So no matter how you choose to celebrate the day, be sure to thank a volunteer the next time you see them out there - and maybe ask how you can get involved too! 💪

The Nova Scotian TV show 'Walkabout' is accepting trail suggestions for their seventh season! Follow the link in their post below if you think your favourite trail should be featured 📺

We’re currently scouting trails, hidden places, and story-rich outdoor locations for an upcoming season of Walkabout and we want YOUR suggestions.

Do you know:
➡️ a hidden trail?
➡️ a place with fascinating local history?
➡️ a trail tied to folklore or legend?
➡️ a beautiful outdoor spot most people don’t know about?
➡️ a path with a story passed down through generations?

We’re especially interested in the places locals treasure and tourists rarely find.

If you have a trail or location to suggest anywhere in Nova Scotia, head to the Walkabout page on Whalesong.ca and fill out our quick submission form:
https://whalesong.ca/productions/walkabout

And feel free to share this post and tag the hikers, historians, storytellers, and “people who know things” in your community!
