The Nova Scotia Trails Federation (NS Trails) is a non profit organization that represents the interests of trail users and volunteer community-based recreational trail groups in Nova Scotia. NS Trails supports the work of community groups in the planning, building, maintenance and management stages of recreational trails.

The Chester Connection Trail (Rail Trail) will be closed from Tuesday, September 1 at 8:00 a.m. to Friday, September 4 at 5:00 p.m., at the Barry's Brook overpass. There will be no access to Castle Rock during this time.

The Goat Lake overpass trail closure still remains in place until October 30, 2026. This is due to the Highway 103 twinning construction project and affects the Goat Lake - Highway 103 overpass. Trail users cannot pass through this site during the closure.

If you're looking for a way to get outside and active this weekend, consider finding out whether your local trail group will be hosting a work party - like this one! 🌳🦺

Our neighbours- Guysborough County Trails are having a work day in the areas from Cameron Lakes to Country Harbour on Saturday if you would like to help out! 🛺🦺
Please indicate if you can help so food can be ordered!! Thanks!
“Hello Everyone

Just a reminder of the Work Day scheduled for this Saturday, August 15th, starting @ 9:30a.m. We will meet at the community centre at the Cross Roads, Country Harbour. BBQ at 12:00 noon.

Please try to come and give us a hand as we try to improve our trails. Bring along shovels, racks, power saw, whipper snipper, or anything else you think can be useful.

The Bay to Bay was happy to host a bird watching event led by noted local birder James Hirtle. Locals and visitors enjoyed a walk on the Trail and the opportunity to watch and learn about a variety of species of Nova Scotia birds.
By popular request, the group has proposed organizing more bird walks. Watch this space for upcoming events!

A morning of artists and their work, along with a Story Book walk from Cape Breton Regional Library "Smelly Feet", by Robert Munsch!
