The Canadian Association of Black Lawyers – Nova Scotia Chapter (CABL-NS) proudly celebrates the successful completion of the inaugural Indigenous, Black & Mi’kmaq Internship Pathway Program!

What began as the vision of the former CABL-NS Board for a Black youth camp has evolved into a transformative internship experience for Indigenous and Black high school students across Nova Scotia. This incredible milestone was made possible through the leadership of the Nova Scotia Barristers' Society, the generous sponsorship from the Law Foundation Of Nova Scotia and the dedicated efforts of our passionate Steering Committee, comprised of several key partners. Special shoutout to Vanessa Fells (NSBS).

We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who volunteered, supported, and contributed to bringing this vision to life.

The impact of this program is only just beginning. CABL-NS is excited to lead the ex*****on of the next instalment of the internship in March 2026, in collaboration with the African Nova Scotian Decade for People of African Descent Coalition and other notable members of our incredible Steering Committee.
