On Sunday, October 11 Marillac Residence celebrated Applefest! There were a variety of apples for tasting, apple c***r donuts, apple c***r and candy apples! It was a great way to celebrate the Fall!

On October 9, Sisters gathered at Wellesley for a special book signing of Charity, With Every Breath.

Authors Sister Kati Hamm and Mary Beth Moore were on hand to sign copies and celebrate the book, which tells the continuing story of the Sisters of Charity–Halifax.

The October 2026 issue of Charity Alive marks a new chapter for the Sisters of Charity Halifax, welcoming the 2026–2030 Congregational Leadership Team and sharing reflections on the 23rd General Chapter.

Throughout the issue, stories explore the Sisters’ continuing call to live charity through service, prayer and care for one another. Highlights include the celebration of Charity, With Every Breath, Caritas residents’ reflections on aging in the Age, Reconsidered podcast, and a look behind the scenes at the archival work that brought decades of Chapter history to life in photographs.

On September 26 at Caritas Residence, the Sisters of Charity Halifax celebrated the Transfer of Leadership with faith, gratitude, and hope.

We thank the outgoing leadership for their dedicated service and offer our prayers and support to the incoming leaders as they guide the community with courage, compassion, and love for the sake of the world.

Today at Caritas, we welcomed authors Sisters Kati Hamm and Mary Beth Moore for a book signing celebrating Charity, With Every Breath.

Their book shares the story of the Sisters of Charity Halifax from 2002 to 2026—years of profound change met with courage, grace, and a deep hope rooted in faith. As members of the congregation, the authors bring a personal perspective to this story of prayer, service, and love.

For the September , we're sharing a photo of from the archives.

Pictured here are sisters attending a March for Peace in Washington DC on May 30, 1982. The march was organized by the Leadership Conference of Women Religious and focused on peacemaking in a time of nuclear arms proliferation. The following month, sisters took part in prayer vigils, marches, and other activities relating to the UN Special Sessions on Disarmament.

It was “Dahlia Day” at the Public Gardens. Incredible blooms and a fun bouquet demo from a fun & entertaining florist. Perfect weather, gorgeous gardens and ice cream too! So lovely!

For the August for the Association of Canadian Archivists, we're taking a break from school and work to celebrate !

Two Sisters play "Power Play" table hockey during recreation time in the St. Anne's Convent community room, December 1960. The Sisters came to Ste-Anne-Du-Ruisseau, formerly known as Eel Brook, in 1872 to teach in the local school. The convent closed in 1963.
