Applications are now open for the 2026 Craft Nova Scotia Summer Designer Craft Show. This juried member opportunity will take place at the Centre for Craft this summer and feature rotating artist-staffed participation blocks in the Mary E. Black Gallery, Passages Gallery, and Residency Gallery.

Participation Blocks:
☀️ July 24–26 (Opening Weekend)
☀️ July 31–August 3 (Natal Day Long Weekend)
☀️ August 7–9 (Final Weekend)

The show is open to current juried Craft Nova Scotia members and assessed work only.

📅 Applications close Thursday, June 18, 2026.
📍 Centre for Craft, 1061 Marginal Rd.

What if the end of the world happens, and it leads to something better? What if the future is something sparkling, strange, beautiful and better than we could have ever imagined?

Opening June 11 at the Mary E. Black Gallery, Mega Bitch by Libbie Farrell features a series of vibrant quilted tapestries inhabited by a cast of trans and q***r characters.

Combining quilting, embroidery, appliqué, rhinestones, and bedazzling, the exhibition celebrates extravagance, excess, q***r joy, and femininity through a humorous and unapologetically q***r lens.

• Your physical work dropped off at 1061 Marginal Rd.

A huge congratulations to everyone who took part in the Blue Nose Marathon this past weekend, including our amazing Craft Nova Scotia team members.

Thanks to the incredible efforts of the team and the generosity of supporters, more than $1,500 was raised in support of Craft Nova Scotia!

Thinking about applying to our members' exhibition, Newness, but still have questions?

We’ve been hearing a few common ones lately, so we’re sharing some quick Q&As to help make the process a little clearer.

One important reminder: you do not need to be a juried member to apply. Newness is open to all current Craft Nova Scotia members, and proposals or works in progress are welcome too.

There’s still time to experience Interior Motifs by Martina Lantin at the Mary E. Black Gallery

Through ceramics, textiles, and layered patterns inspired by centuries of material history, Lantin’s work explores how motifs travel, transform, and reappear across cultures and generations.

The exhibition closes at the end of the month, and it’s not to be missed.

On view until May 31.

We’ve got a team hitting the pavement this weekend (May 15–17) at the Blue Nose Marathon, including two of our amazing Craft Nova Scotia board members. All in support of Craft Nova Scotia!
