Our Story

Concussion Cafe is a peer-led discussion and support group brought to you by the Brain Injury Association of Nova Scotia. (BIANS). In 2015, we ran a pilot series of meetings to address a need for community-based support for people dealing with concussion / mild traumatic brain injury. Since the end of that series, a waiting list has grown and with a dedicated group of volunteers with personal experiences with concussion and post-concussion issues ready to go - we are ready to bring you “Concussion Cafe”. Meetings will run monthly. 80% of people who reach out to us are concerned or dealing with concussion/mild TBI. Nothing mild about it - let's talk brains.
