On behalf of Nova Scotia Snowboard, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the families, friends and fellow service members of those who lost their lives at CFB Wainwright.

Our thoughts are with those injured, their loved ones, and the entire Canadian Armed Forces community during this deeply difficult time.

We honour those who died and their service to Canada. To everyone grieving, recovering or supporting someone affected by this tragedy—our community is thinking of you.

What an incredible three days!

The 2026 Sport Nova Scotia Dairy Farmers of Nova Scotia Milk Sports Fair is officially wrapped up yesterday and we’re still smiling from all the excitement, energy, and first-time snowboard moments.

A huge, heartfelt thank you to our amazing volunteers, athletes, incredible partners at Martock Official, and Excellence Coach Cassandra Smith for spending three days introducing thousands of students to snowboarding.

We also want to recognize for being there throughout the 3-day event and supporting our the team was our president, Kristin d'Eon

It was fantastic to watch so many students step onto a snowboard for the very first time! A special shout-out to our friends at Martock for showing up and helping make this experience possible—we’re so grateful.

Congratulations to all the students who tried sports that were new to them or gave familiar favourites another go. And a huge thank you to Dairy Farmers of Nova Scotia for making this event possible, as well as to the incredible team at Sport Nova Scotia for bringing it all together.

Love snowboarding? Want to help grow it here in Nova Scotia? 🏂 We need your help.

Our community is full of people who make things happen—riders, parents, coaches, officials, judges, and volunteers who show up and pitch in. We’re looking for a few more people to help shape what comes next.

Nova Scotia Snowboard is welcoming volunteers for committees, our Board of Directors, and specific projects. Whether you’ve been around the sport for years or you’re newer to the community, we’d love to hear your ideas and learn what you’d like to contribute.

You don’t need to have a role picked out. Start by telling us a bit about yourself, your interests, and the skills you’d like to share.

🏂 Volunteer commitment: the ask - 8–10 hours a month, at minimum
📝 The form takes about five minutes
📅 Submit by October 15, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. ADT
