Last year, APA partnered with Music Nova Scotia to give Convergence25 delegates access to three days of incredible showcases featuring outstanding Nova Scotian artists as part of Nova Scotia Music Week.

We’re excited to build on that experience at Convergence26. This year, we’re partnering with Music / Musique NB and Semaine MNB Week to bring delegates together for artistic discovery, professional development, meaningful networking, and social connection—all while showcasing some of New Brunswick’s incredible talent!

How will audiences find your events in an AI-powered world? 🤖🔎

Join Morgan Pannunzio of CAPACOA for "Help Audiences Find Your Events: Adopting Schema-Structured Data," a Convergence26 workshop on making your event information easier for search engines, chatbots, cultural calendars, and other digital services to understand and share.

You’ll learn the basics of Schema-structured data, see examples and useful tools, and explore how platforms like Artsdata, Scènes francophones, and Arts Culture NB can help make your events more discoverable and reusable across the web.

Plus, bring your questions! The session will wrap up with an open Q&A focused on participants’ websites, challenges, and next steps.

…And that's a wrap on 2026! Our final day rounded out the week with a great blend of everything that made all the previous days so fun and productive.

We started the day with Artist Pitches by Babes Babes Babes Burlesque, Cause & Effect Circus, Mocean Dance, Quartetto Gelato, Roseneath Theatre, Chimera Dance Theatre Project, Association for Opera in Canada, Axis Theatre Company, Burnstick, and La Sporee/Sarah Bronsard.

We then moved right into our HR “Question Salad” session, which was very informative.

From there we went to our Lunch & Learn for the day, sponsored and presented by Global Philanthropic Canada.

After lunch, we headed back to the wonderful Imperial Theatre for the final artist showcases sponsored by Lunar Productions, featuring: Tina Leon, Aquakultre, Pony Girl, and Abigail Lapell.

Rounding out the day, we had our Contact room and 1-to-1's.

Which brings us to our closing reception and party held at Woodchuck’s, featuring a signature Durham County Poets inspired mocktail sponsored by FamGroup.

Thanks so much to our Lunch & Learn and Showcase sponsors, Global Philanthropic and Lunar Productions, and to FamGroup for the Durham County Poets inspired mocktail at our Closing Party! We would also like to thank our staff and volunteers who worked tirelessly to make Contact East a success!

Day 2 of 2026 was fantastic and a great way to continue the week.

We began the day with an Indigenous History walk along the Saint John river, and with some “slow-networking” where our members could make buttons, share recipes, build puzzles, and get to know each other without necessarily “talking shop”.

Lunch & Learn for day 2 was sponsored and presented by CAPACOA.

The Canadian Association for the Performing Arts/l’Association canadienne des organismes artistiques (CAPACOA) is Canada’s only national arts service organization dedicated to fostering a healthy performing arts touring and presenting community.

In the afternoon we enjoyed more outstanding showcases by: Tocani Project, Rube & Rake, ZUPPA, Jing Xia, and Corpuscule Danse.

We then broke out for dinner with our Hot Topic Dine-arounds.

Finally, we ended the evening with another incredible lineup of showcasing artists: Oktopus, The Dusty Halos, and HEIST.

Stay tuned for what’s in store for the final day of 2026!

Wow! What an amazing start to 2026!

We hit the ground running with a phenomenal keynote address by CBC's Elamin Abdelmahmoud at Saint John's historic Stone Church.

On day one we had two artist showcases at the Imperial Theatre, with some amazing performances by some of the best talent in Canada: Natasha Blackwood, Tanya Davis, Little Misty, Lukacs, , Logan Richard, Tyler Hache, Durham County Poets, Daniel James McFadyen, and John Muirhead.

For our welcoming reception, the Saint John City Market was transformed into a music venue for a show stopping performance by Wolf Castle. Thank you so much to our volunteers and the teams at Jeremiah's, Wild Carrot, Picaroon's, and the Saint John City Market for working with us to coordinate this lovely evening!

At the reception the APA Achievement Award was given to Kim Rayworth of the Capitol Theatre in Moncton for her years of work and dedication to the arts. Congratulations Kim!

Our first day was one for the books, so we can't wait to see what Day 2 has in store!

Join us tomorrow evening (Wednesday, April 8th) at 5:30PM for the official Contact East opening reception at the historic Saint John City Market. Enjoy a festive cocktail hour with alcoholic and non-alcoholic options, delicious bites from local vendors, and a high-energy performance by hip-hop artist Wolf Castle. The evening also includes the presentation of the APA Achievement Award.

Wolf Castle is a Mi’kmaq rapper, producer, and singer from Pabineau First Nation, New Brunswick - an unlikely place for a rap career to come to fruition but everything about Wolf Castle defies the odds.

Growing up on the reserve with a supportive family of artists, movie directors and musicians, going for a career in the arts seemed like the natural choice. Heralded as “The Maritimes’ most promising young MC” by Complex and “one of this country's most promising young rappers” by CBC Music, his music carries an energy and wisdom beyond his years covering topics about love, loss, celebration, and perseverance.

Kick off the conference with a shared moment of reflection, inspiration, and conversation.

Elamin Abdelmahmoud is the host of CBC's daily arts, entertainment, and pop culture show Commotion. He is an award-winning culture writer who has written for the New York Times, BuzzFeed News, the Globe and Mail, and others.
