We are pleased to welcome all the skaters, coaches and their families from Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island to Nova Scotia for the 2026 Canadian Youth Short Track Championships- East at the RBC Centre in Dartmouth.

Also a special thank you to the volunteers and officials for supporting and making the event happen.

Another season comes to a close. Thank you to the skaters, coaches, officials, event organizers and city staff for a fun season on the ice.

The municipality is reminding residents that you have 10 more days to enjoy the Emera Oval before it closes for the winter season on Sunday, March 15.

Julia is competing at her third consecutive ISU Junior World Speed Skating Championships after securing her spot on the Canadian team by winning her third straight women’s overall title at the 2026 Canadian Junior Long Track Championships. Her continued success and growing presence on the national and international stage are inspiring the next generation of athletes across Nova Scotia.

Nova Scotia’s Julia Snelgrove captured Canada’s lone medal on the opening day of racing at the ISU World Junior Speed Skating Championships in Inzell, earning silver in the women’s 500m.
