Halifax Crafters is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization with a mandate to encourage new artists and local art making. Our membership and board is comprised of a group of dedicated volunteers that work to fulfill our mission and vision within the creative community and organize our bi-annual craft markets to best serve our exhibitors. We are proud to be a part of a vibrant community of indep

endent craft and art markets in the city of Halifax. We strive to remain a financially accessible market for vendors while staying fresh, seeking out new talent and encouraging new craftspeople to enter the marketplace. In order to maintain a unique and engaging market, all applicants are juried every market by a rotating jury, including a guest juror from outside of the Halifax Crafters membership. Each year we organize two shows, one in the spring and one before the Christmas holidays. Our carefully curated and unique market is a place where established and emerging Crafters show their work side by side.

Did you know?

Winter Applications are open and we are looking for vendors with 15 different categories to apply to. Having so many categories helps us to support as many different local makers as possible, while also providing shoppers with an enormous variety of different items to purchase.

From handmade pottery, wood pieces, original art, holiday cards, clothing, and more, there is absolutely something for everyone.

And for those who don't see a category for their work, send us an email so that we can find the best category for your application.

Applications for our 2026 Winter Market are now open! The upcoming market will take place November 27 - 29 at Pier 22 in downtown Halifax.

⭐CALLING ALL VENDORS⭐

Halifax Crafters is excited to finally announce that applications for our 2026 Winter Market will open - WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 26! We know many of you have been waiting for an update and we appreciate your patience.

Applications will close on Friday, September 11 at 11:59pm.

We are also excited to announce that the Winter Market will be taking place in a NEW VENUE, which will hopefully allow our market to be more accessible to more people, and to potentially include MORE vendors.

📍 PIER 22 (1031 Marginal Rd, Halifax, NS B3H 4P7)

The Winter Market will be moving to Pier22, in downtown Halifax.

📅 November 27 - 29, 2027

Our market dates will be shifting slightly but still providing folks with lots of time to shop ahead of the holidays.

Now that Market prep is in full swing, we will continue to provide updates re: applications, the new venue, and all things Halifax Crafters.

Thank you everyone for your continued patience.

Many vendors have been reaching out to ask about our Winter Market and we hope to be able to make an announcement next week. We are eagerly putting together the final details and would not have delayed our application process if it wasn't necessary.

Please know that with the delayed opening of our applications, deadlines, and timelines may be shorter than in the past. We will do our best to accommodate and communicate effectively any, and all changes.

~ Please Read Below ~

Some of you may be wondering about when applications for our Winter Market will be opening. Usually by now we would have announced the date and sent out several reminders. Don't worry, you haven't missed anything.

We are however still working on some of the details, and finalizing our plans. This means that we're not quite ready to announce the dates and/or open applications.

We will make sure to provide as many updates as we can to ensure that everyone has enough time to submit their application.

Did you know?

Our Spring Market in May 2026 helped vendors sell over $110,000 in handmade goods. Everything from leather, wood products, fresh food, jewelry, soap, art, clothing, and more.

Shopping at either of our annual markets is a great way to support local makers, and help them continue to do what they love.

- Annual General Meeting -

Halifax Crafters will be hosting our Annual General Meeting in two weeks. This is an opportunity for us to review applications to join our Board, set a budget for the upcoming year, vote on new policies, and more.

This event will be taking place from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm at the Keshen Goodman Public Library (330 Lacewood Drive, Halifax) and is open to the public.

If you're interested in joining the Board of Directors, please send us your cover letter and resume before Sunday, June 7th. And if you're interested in joining our Organizing Committee, please reach out via email.

JOIN HALIFAX CRAFTERS

Are you looking to join an awesome organization with some really cool people? Halifax Crafters is looking for folks interested in joining either our Board of Directors or one of our Organizing Committees.

Board Members play an essential part of the organization, helping to draft policies, seek sponsorships, join a committee, and help guide the organization into the future. While Organizers coordinate with venue staff, work with the poster designer, create social media graphics/posts, design the floorplan, and more!!

WANT TO JOIN?

Board Members > please send us 1) a cover letter, telling us about yourself and why you'd like to join the Board and 2) a resume, detailing your experience. Both items can be sent via email to [email protected]. All applications will be reviewed by the Board, with a vote taking place during our AGM in June.

Committee Members > please send us an email at [email protected] expressing your interest.

To ensure our Board has enough time to review all the applicants, please submit before Sunday, June 7th.
