We're proud to have participated in the 2026 CASE - Canadian Association for Supported Employment conference in Ottawa, joining employment professionals, service providers, advocates, and community leaders from across the country to explore innovative approaches to inclusive employment and workforce participation.

We were pleased to share the opportunity with representatives from Futureworx - Randy Lindsay and Christa Giddens, both as exhibitors and speakers. Our Executive Director Carrie Ernst was joined by CEO Randy Lindsay to present their breakout session; Putting the Pieces Together: Applying Social and Emotional Skill Development in Supported Employment. Not only highlighting the importance of Social and Emotional skills in the workplace, but how our collaborative tool ImSET can help those with disabilities to reach their goals both at work and at home.

Thank you to CASE for allowing us the space to reach those that came to the session and stopped by our booth. Thank you as well to Futureworx for teaming up with us to make an impact in the community and to help those with disabilities to live their fullest lives.

As we celebrate Canada Day and National AccessAbility Week, we recognize the importance of building communities where everyone can participate, belong, and thrive.

At Independent Living Nova Scotia, we believe that true inclusion means removing barriers, promoting accessibility, and ensuring that persons with disabilities have the freedom, choice, and support to live independently and fully engage in community life.

This week is an opportunity to celebrate the contributions, achievements, and leadership of persons with disabilities while reflecting on the work still needed to create a more accessible and inclusive Canada for all.

Together, let's continue advocating for communities where independence, dignity, and equal opportunity are not goals—they are realities.
