🎱 WE’RE LOOKING FOR PAID BINGO LEADS! 🎱

The Porters Lake Community Centre is looking for dependable individuals to join our weekly Bingo team as Bingo Leads.

💰 $100 per shift
📅 Minimum commitment of one shift per month

Our Bingo Leads are responsible for overseeing the evening and making sure everything runs smoothly from setup through to closing.

Responsibilities include:

• Coordinating and supporting Bingo volunteers throughout the evening.
• Being responsible for Bingo money and ticket inventory during the shift.
• Setting out Bingo tickets, books and cash before sales begin.
• Assisting with the sale of Bingo books and tickets.
• Calculating prizes and preparing cheques for larger prize amounts.
• Keeping track of prize pots and providing the updated amounts at the end of the night.
• Balancing receipts and funds at the end of the evening.
• Preparing deposits and replenishing petty cash when required.
• Helping clear tables and dispose of garbage at the end of the night.
• Locking and unlocking the Community Centre as required.
• Being familiar with Bingo rules and confidently ensuring they are followed fairly and consistently.

We are looking for someone who is organized, trustworthy, comfortable handling money and able to take the lead when needed.

Previous Bingo experience would be an asset, but training can be provided for someone who is willing to learn.

🎄✨ We’re joining Seaside Christmas 2026! ✨🎄

We are so excited to announce that the Porters Lake Community Centre will be taking part in the annual Seaside Christmas this November!

As part of the weekend, we’ll be opening our doors to local Eastern Shore makers and small businesses who create homemade or handcrafted goods and do not have a brick-and-mortar location. 🛍️❤️

This is your chance to set up shop for the weekend, showcase what you make, and be part of one of the Eastern Shore’s favourite holiday traditions!

📅 Saturday, November 14
⏰ 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
💲 $35/table

📅 Sunday, November 15
⏰ 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
💲 $25/table

We’re still not over what an incredible turnout we had for the Lake & Shore Days Car Show! 🚗🏆

A huge thank-you to everyone who brought out their vehicles, stopped by to check out the show, cast their votes and helped make the day such a success. Seeing the Metro Transit lot filled with incredible cars — and so many people from our community enjoying them — was exactly what we hoped for.

Attention Local Vendors!

PLCSA has made the decision to plan our annual craft fair for the same weekend as Seaside Christmas and we will be participating in this event. We have space for approximately 22 local vendors. More information will be coming soon should you be interested in renting a table for this event.

🍻 Still thinking about last night… 💃🕺

What a night at the Lake & Shore Days B**r Tent & Video Dance! 🎶

The crowd, the music, the dancing and the energy made for such a fun night, and we loved seeing so many people out enjoying themselves and celebrating with the community.

A huge thank-you to everyone who came out, as well as the volunteers who worked behind the scenes and throughout the night to make it all happen. Events like this simply wouldn’t be possible without you. 💙

🚤 BOAT PARADE TONIGHT! 🚤

We’ve had a few people looking for the Boat Parade route/map, so we’re sharing it again to make sure everyone can find it! 🗺️

The Lake & Shore Days Boat Parade starts tonight at 9:00 p.m. 🌊✨

A big thank-you to Marina Park for graciously welcoming the community to watch the parade from their private beach area.

If you plan to watch from Marina Park, please keep in mind:

• Parking in the area is limited, so please plan accordingly.
• The viewing area is standing room only, so please bring your own chair if you would like one.
• Please be respectful of the property and take all garbage and belongings with you when you leave.
