Spaces are still available in the Inclusive and Adapted Bronze Medallion, Cross and National Lifeguard course being held at the Sackville Sports Stadium.

Lifesaving course for candidates working towards either Bronze Star, Bronze Medallion, Bronze Cross, or National Lifeguard certification. This course is for candidates who are looking to become lifeguards but have increased difficulty learning in a large group setting and require more time to learn skills and understand course material. Course will continue into the Winter season and beyond for anyone who requires additional time to achieve the certifications.

Candidates will be in a small group with an instructor who works with them at their own pace. Candidates will work on the skills for each level until they are ready for the exam.

Starts: September 27, 2026
Time: Sundays 1:15-4:15pm
Cost: $24 for books, course is free

Registration is now open for our Learn to Ride program!🐴

Through Easter Seals Nova Scotia's Take PART program, participants will enjoy an inclusive horseback riding experience designed for children and youth ages 7–24 living with physical and/or cognitive disabilities.

In partnership with the Halifax Lancers, Learn to Ride provides a fun, supportive environment where participants can build confidence, develop new skills, make friends, and create lasting memories.

Young Lights: Bright Futures — Carers and Me! 🌈

We’re excited to launch a new program, made possible through the support of the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia

What:
Join us for a free, fully inclusive program for young children of all abilities (ages 0–5+) and their carers to connect, play, learn, and grow together. Sessions include interactive movement, musical games, sensory activities, and more!

We’re also thrilled to welcome Wanda (Child Development Specialist) and Morgan (Music Therapist from the Maritime Conservatory of Performing Arts), who will each join us once a month.

When:
Weekly sessions on Saturday mornings, 10am to 12pm
First session: May 16th, 2026

Where:
Progress Place (5505 Clyde St, Halifax)

Who can attend?
Everyone is welcome! This integrated program is open to children of all abilities (ages 0–5+) and their carers.

Summer is coming and we are ready! We have several pieces of equipment available on a first-come, first-served basis to assist in getting outdoors! We are happy to introduce the Cascade Cart for hiking over rougher terrain or if you simply would like a different way to move in the outdoors. If you are a current IWK Kids' Rehab client or would like to enquire about borrowing this or any other piece of adapted equipment, please email [email protected] .
