We talk and talk and talk to avoid the discomfort in silence but what if silence is actually restorative to give space to sit with ourselves, understand who we are and how God made us? Good Friday at St Thomas Aquinas from 10-2:30 will serve as the time to seclude and learn about silence, to maybe be uncomfortable in silence and move into comfort in Jesus. The space and slowed down day in prayer with God is pretty profound and will transition to an end with service at St Mary’s Basilica.
The day is no cost, but just for numbers register if you can in the biography!

This Thursday the 26th, the men’s night is going to be different. Rather than meeting at the Jerome house at 7:30 PM, the guys are going to be opening the invitation to join adoration confession, and stations of the cross at Saint Catherine of Siena Church on Bayers Rd. It’s kind of perfect for the contemplative, reflective season of Lent. What better way to journey them with fellow travellers?

St Denis, patron of headaches, pray for us.

It’s with great anticipation we open an invitation to a talk led by Dr Luke Togni: Idols to Icons. This focusses on fasting almsgiving and of course icons and idols which is a perfect area to dive into in this Lenten season. We will kick things off at 7 pm at SMU Chaplaincy in the Loyola Academic building and end the night in chanting compline!
Dr Togni has an extensive background in theology and specializes in the intersection of the ancient and medieval worlds and the sharing and transformation of ideas between pagan, Jewish and Christian thought.
We hope this night will help expand the understanding of idols and icons and abet a deeper walk into our Lenten journey.

Saint Angela of Foligno, patron of resisting temptation, pray for us!

Basketball again on March 7th from 10:30am to 2pm at St Agnes gym on Mumford road! We did pick up last time and it was great so show up whenever and be as serious or unserious as you want as long as we don’t need to fill out any injury reports. Kidding!!! That’s not what they’re called.

St Pier Giorgio Frassati, patron of mountaineers, catholic action and youth, pray for us.

Imagine sitting at the feet of Jesus and just spilling your guts out and being so open to His mercy and interminable love. My friend, welcome to adoration.
Stella Maris in Spryfield is having a 40 hour adoration, and please go whenever your heart desires, but, we will be there overnight on February 16th at 10pm to 7am. Men’s and women’s sleeping quarters will be in the basement hall. The main space will stay open for a spot to sit, eat some pizza and relax. Or, feel free to go upstairs and sit with a King.
Bring a sleeping bag, pillow and willingness to be present with Jesus.
There’s a couple things we need filled out if you’re planning on coming at night, staying the night, or want some pizza. If you feel so obliged please get that filled out through the bio link before the 16th!

The Feast of the Presentation is almost upon us! We really want to reintroduce the tradition of this day with mass at Atlantic School of Theology starting at 5:30PM and some homemade warm soup for the crisp chilly season, and trust us, this isn’t your back of the cupboard Campbell soup. But we don’t wanna stay inside the whole evening so we’re gonna move things to the oval around 7:30 for a little skate! Don’t have skates? All good they have complementary rentals and handy walkers with a provided ID! Even if you don’t feel like skating I’m sure many of us will need some moral support as we take on the ice!
Come have soup.
St. Lidwina of Schiedam, patron of skating, pray for us!

This one is for the fellas. Virtue and vice: two profound concepts of thinkers and philosophers of all generations and guess what? You’re next! In a world that has the two mixed up sometimes it’s good to sit down and talk about what they really mean, what they are in practice, and how this can help or hinder our faith journey and relationship with Jesus. So why not tackle this one on men’s night? Thursday the 22nd at 7pm, hosted graciously by the men at their home on AST campus!

St Dominic, patron of astronomers, pray for us!

Marriage? Kids? Confusion? Yea it’s a common thing. The concept of natural family planning, or NFP, can be very confusing, overwhelming, and even maybe uncharted territory for many women, so we’re very excited for women’s night with Dr. Alaina Cormier! She will be chatting about theology of the body and NFP, going over the practice and how it compliments Gods plan for us, rather than hinder it.
This is all going down next week on Thursday the 22nd at 7pm! Hosted by the amazing gals at the women house! (14 st Michael’s ave).

St Anne, patron of fertility, pray for us!

New Year new you? New event? Anyways we’re stoked for this tournament. It’s a friendly half court tourny that’s gonna go from around 11:15-2:30 on January 10th at the St Agnes Gym on Mumford. Make your own team via registration in bio and no cost just the potential of losing. But remember, we write our own history. There’s only room for 8 teams of 4-5 players so get her together and sign up! Registration is closing the Thursday before so we can draft up a schedule, cause you know “organization”.
St Sebastian, patron of athletes, pray for us and our ankles!
