Event Name: ZiMA Community Wellness Picnic

Date: August 22, 2026

Description:

🍃 Same community. Same connection. Same great vibes. 🍃

For years, our Annual Family BBQ has brought us together to laugh, share a meal, and celebrate the bonds that make our community special.

This year, we’re excited to evolve that tradition into the ZiMA Community Wellness Picnic.

You’ll still enjoy the family-friendly atmosphere, connection, and celebration you love, with an expanded focus on wellness in all its forms—physical, mental, social, cultural, and community well-being.

Join us as we celebrate health, happiness, belonging, and the strength of our Zimbabwean community.

🇿🇼 Happy Independence Day, Zimbabwe! 🇿🇼

Yesterday marked a historic moment for our community, as the Zimbabwean flag was raised over Halifax City Hall, Nova Scotia, Canada for the first time in celebration of our 46th Independence Day.

Today, April 18, we proudly celebrate Zimbabwe’s independence and reflect on the strength and contributions of Zimbabweans across Nova Scotia, our professionals, students, and entrepreneurs who enrich our communities every day.

We extend our sincere gratitude to HRM, the Mayor Andy Fillmore’s Office, Deputy Mayor Patricia Cuttell, and Councillors Virginia Hinch and Laura White for their support and the recognition. We are also grateful for the message from Ambassador Cecil Chinenere, delivered by Otni Asare-Adjei

Zimbabweans across the Maritimes, our flag is still flying high at Grand Parade through the weekend. Come witness this proud symbol of our heritage and our home in Canada.
