Don't forget to play - it's important for all ages! :)

Let them play.

Play improves the cognitive, physical, social, and emotional well-being of children. Through play, children learn about the world and themselves.

They also learn skills they need for study, work, and relationships, such as:

Confidence
Self-esteem
Resilience
Interaction
Social skills
Independence
Curiosity
Coping with challenging situations

PLAY IS GOOD FOR ADULTS TOO!!! Whether it's exercising, knitting, reading, or riding a bike-- wherever you (1) Lose sense of time (2) You do it just because you LOVE it (3) You don't feel self-conscious doing it. Play in adulthood is related to resiliency, joy, life satisfaction, and it curbs against depression and anxiety!

Sometimes parents need a break from the busyness of after school. Every Tuesday for 4 weeks kids can come into the Centre, and learn a different kitchen skill. Not only will they get to build on their culinary skills but they will get to bring home what ever they made from scratch. Registration is required and opens every 4 weeks. Age groups will alternate from month to month.
