Forum lands are more valuable to the public for COMMUNITY uses for recreational and event purposes.
The Halifax Forum is ideally situated to support our currently dense, and much further densifying city. We are on major transit routes and close to major highways. We are within walking and cycling distance for the majority of the peninsula.
Our current population on the peninsula is approximately 100,000, all of HRM is approximately 502,000. By 2050 it is estimated that the population of HRM will be near 1 MILLION.
Building infrastructure like the new Halifax Forum BEFORE a large influx of new residents arrive, is a critical move to support our growing city; it is smart planning by our City Planners.
Please share to create awareness of the projected population growth on the North End of the peninsula of Halifax, and the need for access to local and regional recreational and event spaces for all of HRM.
