Royal Canadian Legion Branch27

Royal Canadian Legion Branch27 We Are A Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 27, 3200 Kempt Road Suite 103 Halifax NS Canada B3K4X1 As long as there are wars, there will be veterans.

Welcome to the website of the oldest Legion in Halifax, founded by veterans of WW1 in 1927 for the comradeship and social advocacy of their disabled comrades. Although many of the brave men and women of the World Wars and Korea have passed on, they leave a legacy of distinction and honour. Today, veterans of Afghanistan and Canadian Peace Keeping around the world deserve the same honour and respec

t of fellow Canadians. Because of their valour, we enjoy their building and the freedom of country for which they sacrificed and protected. Whether you visit our legion to enjoy one of the many events we host, be in the company of our warm and welcoming staff or just stopping by for a drink or two, when you look around the room at RCL VIMY 27, most everyone you will see is a direct descendant of one of our fallen or surviving

Battle of the Atlantic Parade and Ceremony

On Sunday, May 3, 2026, starting at 10:30 a.m., a ceremony commemorating the 81st anniversary of the Battle of the Atlantic will take place at the Point Pleasant Park Halifax Memorial.
Every year, on the first Sunday in May, our Defence family joins community members in memorial parks to honour those who served in the longest battle of the Second World War. Together, we observe a moment of silence to mark the sacrifice of the more than 4,500 Canadians who lost their lives in the Battle of the Atlantic, in hard-fought victories at sea, or on treacherous convoy duty.
CFB Halifax encourages all members of the community to join them in remembering the sailors, merchant mariners, and aviators who served and sacrificed for our country.

Public safety notice:

Beginning at 10:25 a.m., a military parade consisting of four platoons will be marching from the Point Pleasant Park lower parking lot to the Halifax Memorial along Sailors Memorial Way. Although there will be no road closures, members of the public are to be advised of higher than usual foot traffic in this area.

At approximately 10:58 a.m., the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) will conduct flypasts with a CH148 Cyclone and CP140 Aurora over Point Pleasant Park. Royal Canadian Air Force flybys are carefully planned and closely controlled to ensure public safety. Aircraft participation is subject to weather and operational requirements.
