Every One Every Day is working to bring North End neighbours together to design and start projects that benefit them and the community.

If you live in the North End and think you might like to do fun and practical things with your neighbours, join in! Every One Every Day Kjipuktuk is a Reconciliation initiative of the Mi’kmaw Native Friendship Centre that brings together residents from different parts of the North End to create and learn from one another. Projects range from batch cooking and community meals, sharing cultural knowledge and traditions, building useful and fun items for the neighbourhood, as well as a variety of making, crafting, sewing, repairing, fixing and much more. All together, these projects create opportunities for Indigenous and non-Indigenous neighbours to connect, form relationships built from mutual respect and understanding, and celebrate together by collectively contributing to creative and practical projects that draw on the many gifts and talents of people living nearby. Everyone is welcome to join, no registration required! All sessions at Every One Every Day are free with all materials provided.

Mi’kmaw Language (Beginner) | 3:30 p.m. – 5 p.m.

Join Linda Denny from Eskasoni First Nation for an introduction to Mi’kmaw. This welcoming, beginner-level course is open to everyone and is offered over two sessions.

We Are All Dancers | 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

What if we got together and danced? Come as you are, move however you like, and dance with others! We'll share stories, learn about each other's relationships with dance, and explore ways to make space for dancing in our communities.

Sewing Drop-In | 3:30 p.m. – 5 p.m.

The Neighbourhood Shop is open to anyone looking to start or continue working on a sewing project! Explore our huge selection of fabrics and materials, learn new skills, and share ideas with others.

Protest Banner Making | 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Have something to say? Turn it into something visible! Learn how to create protest banners using pillowcases and simple materials. Think about what matters to you and transform your ideas into bold, expressive pieces that make a statement.

Learn to Play Waltes | 1 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Discover the traditional Mi'kmaw game of Waltes with Linda Denny from Eskasoni First Nation! Gather around the Waltes board for an afternoon of teachings, culture, and play. No prior experience needed!

Build Trailer Drop-In | 1 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Join Amrita for a Community Clean-Up! We’ll take a walk through the North End, picking up litter along the way and giving a little care back to our neighbourhood. This session is in partnership with Nova Scotia Legal Aid

Handbuilding Clay Flower Pots | 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Discover the joy of clay with Cameryn! Gain an introduction to pottery through the technique of pinch pots, a low-stakes way to get comfortable with the material. Participants will shape their very own custom clay flower pot. No experience necessary. Learn something new, and make a piece to take home!
