Meningitis B is the most common and most deadly strain of meningitis. When a person is infected with meningitis B, it is a race against time to begin treatment and start antibiotics. The infection can spread quickly through the bloodstream and attack the brain. There

is a severe lack of information and transparency regarding meningitis B. The vaccine was not available until 2014, and the vast majority of those at risk have not been immunized against this lethal disease. BforKai.org exists to help educate people about meningitis B and increase vaccination rates. Join us in our fight against meningitis B and join our Facebook group to stay connected and informed.

Some legacies live on far beyond the time we had with someone and at NS Snowboard, some partnerships go far beyond sponsorship. 💙

We want to take a moment to thank BforKai for their continued support of our community.

Our connection with BforKai is about so much more than sponsorship. It’s about remembering Kai, a former provincial team rider, whose passion for snowboarding and impact on our community will never be forgotten.

Through BforKai’s support, our athletes receive BforKai swag, but more importantly they hear Kai’s story. They learn about the incredible rider, teammate, brother, son, and friend he was. Kai tragically died from Meningitis B and his family and friends have created this organization to raise awareness and influence change. Many of our younger athletes never had the chance to meet Kai, but through these moments we are able to share memories and keep his spirit and love for snowboarding alive within our community.

We are honoured to help carry Kai’s story forward and to be part of his legacy. Thank you to BforKai for continuing to support our athletes and for allowing us to be a part of carrying forward his legacy. ❤️💙🏂

A warm thank you to the amazing students in the 2025 Acadia Senior Seminar Kinesiology Class who setup an awareness booth and chuck-a-puck event during the Acadia vs. StFX hockey game at the Acadia Athletics complex. We're so proud of all the interactions and conversations raising awareness about MenB with students and parents attending the game.

We’re so proud to recognize and share some of our significant milestones in 2024. A warm thank you to the amazing students in the 2024 Acadia Senior Seminar Kinesiology Class who setup an awareness booth at the Wolfville Farmers Market in November and achieved over 500 interactions / conversations spreading awareness about MenB. We also have so much gratitude for the incredible student leaders at Dalhousie who are members of the executive team for the BforKai-Dal Society which was awarded the most Impactful Residence Council Award in March. Thank you also to the Bay Treasure Chest for their continued annual support for BforKai in our home community of St. Margaret’s Bay. We also want to thank all the generous donors who have supported and contributed to our work in 2024.
