The Township of Minden Hills Fire Department is encouraging participation in the Ontario Association of Fire Chiefs Test Your Smoke Alarm Contest.

Take a photo testing your smoke alarm and enter for a chance to win a $100 Amazon Gift Card. DETECTION NOTIFICATION | The Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) has confirmed the presence of the aquatic invasive plant hydrilla (Hydrilla verticillata) in a contained wetland at Hillman Marsh Conservation Area in Essex County. The Minden Hills Fire Department is partnering with the Ontario Fire Marshal on September 28 for Ontario's Test Your Smoke Alarm Day!

The Minden Hills Firefighters and Community Safety Team will be out in the township the week of September 23 -September 28, 2024. Firefighters will be visiting door to door to educate the community on the importance of smoke and carbon monoxide alarms in their homes, fire safety, home escape planning and being prepared for emergencies.

The goal is to supply and install a smoke alarm in owner-occupied households not equipped with a working smoke alarm/ Carbon Monoxide alarm. This is a FREE voluntary program available to all. If you would like to book a S.A.F.E program check visit, www.mindenhills.ca/saved-by-the-beep/.
