THE STORIES WITHIN OUR LOGO
Chapter Two - The Trees
There’s another side to Halfmoon Bay. Step away from the shoreline and you are in the trees.
The sound changes.
The air changes.
And somehow, the pace changes too.
Our forests are woven into life here — the trails we walk, the wildlife we share this place with, the history of people who have worked in the timber industry, and those wonderfully ordinary moments when a walk in the woods reminds us just how fortunate we are to call this place home.
And they are part of our logo for a reason.
It’s easy to think of trees as simply the backdrop to life here. But they’re not really the backdrop at all.
They’re part of what makes Halfmoon Bay feel like Halfmoon Bay.
Another piece of our logo.
Another piece of our story.
Another piece of home.
When Gil Binne created the design selected in the 2020 community logo contest, he chose the trees to represent the land.
Each element of the logo tells part of our story. This is just the second. Because in Halfmoon Bay, the land doesn’t simply surround us. It grounds us.
