June is National Indigenous History Month.

This timeline reflects the deep, complex, and essential histories of this land and the First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples whose cultures, knowledge, and presence continue to shape it.

It speaks to profound resilience, rich and diverse cultures, and enduring strength, alongside truths that require ongoing learning, reflection, and unlearning.

This month is an invitation to listen more closely, seek out Indigenous voices, and engage meaningfully with the histories and lived experiences of Indigenous Peoples. Not only in June, but throughout the year.

This timeline highlights key events in Indigenous history in what is now Canada, from time immemorial to 2016. While not exhaustive, it offers a broad chronological overview to support learning and education. It is also important to acknowledge that significant events and developments have continued from 2016 to 2026, further shaping Indigenous histories, rights, and relationships in Canada.

June is National Indigenous History Month, a time to recognize and celebrate the rich histories, cultures, traditions, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples.

Throughout this month, we encourage learning, reflection, and meaningful action toward reconciliation. We also acknowledge the enduring strength, resilience, and leadership of Indigenous communities.

As we reflect on our shared history and future, we recognize that reconciliation is an ongoing commitment that extends beyond a single month.

🌈 Happy Pride Month! 🌈

This month, we celebrate the strength, resilience, diversity, and contributions of 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals in our community.

At Pavilion Women's Centre, we are committed to fostering a space where everyone is treated with dignity, respect, and belonging. Pride is a celebration, but it is also a reminder of the importance of continuing to create safe, inclusive, and equitable communities for all.

We stand with the 2SLGBTQIA+ community this Pride Month and every month.
