Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) is a permanent, invisible brain injury caused by alcohol exposure before birth. Because it is a spectrum, it affects everyone differently, but it generally makes everyday tasks hard by causing struggles with memory, time management, and emotional control. It is completely preventable by avoiding alcohol during pregnancy, and while it cannot be cured, individuals with FASD can thrive when supported by calm, predictable routines and simple instructions that accommodate their unique needs.
