The Guelph Shoebox Project

We are a registered charity that collects and distributes gift-filled shoeboxes to women impacted by homelessness in Canada, US and UK.

Working with members of the community, we enhance self-esteem and reduce feelings of isolation for women in crisis. The Shoebox Project for Shelters, supported by Dream, collects and distributes gifts in the form of Shoeboxes to women who are homeless or at-risk of homelessness in communities across Canada and in the US. Each Shoebox is filled with items valued at $50 that any woman is likely to e

njoy, but may not splurge on for herself in difficult times. In our founding year, 2011, we delivered 400 Shoeboxes to residents of four Toronto women's shelters. Through word of mouth and the support of some loyal sponsors, the initiative grew very quickly. Five short years later, in 2016, our network of dedicated volunteers delivered over 36,000 gifts to women in over 250 communities

Here’s what’s coming up in 2026! 💗

Our upcoming Wellness Workshops are free, virtual, and open to all who identify as women across Ontario. Each session is designed to support well-being, build confidence, and foster connection in a welcoming and inclusive space.

Over 35,825 Shoeboxes were delivered with care, dignity, and hope, each one reminding a woman that she is seen, valued, and not alone. Every box represents a moment of comfort and a step toward a more secure tomorrow.
