One of the hardest things about grief can be learning to receive support.

A meal from a neighbour.
A phone call from a friend.
Someone who simply sits beside you.

Many people want to help, but they don't always know how.

One of the most meaningful lessons shared in our Men's Grief Support Group was this:

πŸ’™ Accept help when it is offered.
πŸ’™ Ask for help when it is needed.

You do not have to walk this journey alone.

GRIEF HAS MANY FACES

Some grief arrives suddenly.

Some grief begins long before a loss occurs.

Some grief comes through caring for someone you love.

And some grief is learning how to carry loss while continuing to live.

Join us for an evening of stories, conversation & connection as members of our community share their experiences with:

β€’ Sudden Loss
β€’ Anticipatory Loss
β€’ Caring for the Caregiver
β€’ Living With Loss

Our guests will share their personal journeys, insights, and the questions they wish they'd been asked. We'll then open the conversation for questions and discussion.

Whether you are grieving, supporting someone who is grieving, caring for a loved one, or simply wanting to better understand loss, you are welcome.

Grief is hard enough without becoming our own harshest critic.

Many people tell us they feel they should be "further along" by now. That they should be coping better. That they should be stronger.

But grief doesn't follow a timeline.

One of the most important lessons shared in our Men's Grief Support Group was this:

πŸ’™ Be compassionate to yourself.

Offer yourself the same patience, kindness, and grace that you would offer someone you love.

Healing isn't about getting over your loss.

It's about learning how to carry it.

Sometimes grief asks us to slow down.

In the midst of loss, it can be tempting to make major decisionsβ€”moving, changing jobs, ending relationships, or making significant financial choices.

One of the most common pieces of wisdom shared in our Men's Grief Support Group is this:

πŸ’™ Do not make critical life decisions while walking through your grief.

Grief affects our thinking, emotions, and perspective. When possible, give yourself permission to wait. Important decisions will still be there when the fog begins to lift.

Thursday night we welcomed 21 people to our inaugural Monthly Meet Up.

Together we explored "Understanding Grief (and Why This Feels So Hard)" with Griefwalk Founder, Marian Boyd.

More importantly, we created space for connection, reflection, and conversation with others who understand.

Some came to listen.
Some came to share.
Some simply came to be among people who "get it."

The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with participants sharing words such as:

πŸ’› Hope
πŸ’› Understanding
πŸ’› Connection
πŸ’› Comfort
πŸ’› Peace

Thank you to everyone who joined us, volunteered, and helped create such a welcoming evening.

We look forward to gathering again on Thursday, June 18th.

Because grief may be a personal journey, but it doesn't have to be walked alone.

At Griefwalk, we spend so much time reminding others to move gently through grief.

At Griefwalk, we spend so much time reminding others to move gently through grief.

This week reminded us that we need those reminders too. 🀍

Sometimes grief asks us to slow down.
To pause for a moment.
To feel what we’re carrying instead of pushing through it.

So wherever today finds you β€”
be gentle with yourself.

Pause. Feel. Heal.

If you’re grieving the loss of a beloved pet, please know your grief matters too.

This week we’re sharing a gentle, practical book from the Remember, It’s OK series β€” co-authored by Griefwalk founder Marian Boyd.

Remember, It’s OK: Loss of a Partner offers short, compassionate reflections you can read in just a few minutes β€” especially on days when grief feels heavy, quiet, or overwhelming.

If you are grieving the loss of a spouse or partner (recently or years ago), this resource gently reminds you that what you’re feeling is normal β€” and that you don’t have to walk this alone.
