One of the world's first documentary film festivals, The festival began as the Guelph International Film Festival in 1984. Our festival showcases international, national and local films, with visiting directors, community discussions, and an ever growing film series for children, in

cluding a new french language series. The aim is to inspire both community engagement and appreciation of the arts by connecting people with stories of global reach and local relevance.

We’re excited to be part of the Family Tent with Tiny Docs on Saturday, June 13 at 1:00 PM at Riverside Park.

Come experience a weekend of global cuisine, live music, cultural performances, family activities, marketplace vendors, midway rides, and community connection — all in a safe, welcoming, alcohol-free environment.

Bring the whole family, refill your water bottle at the Water Wagon, take advantage of the free bike valet, and celebrate the diversity and unity that make Guelph such a vibrant community.

As we look back on GFF 2025, we’re reminded why this work matters.

At the Guelph Film Festival, we believe powerful stories and meaningful conversations should be accessible to everyone. Through artist-driven documentaries rooted in social justice, environmental responsibility, Indigenous voices, and community-building, we create space for people to gather, reflect, and connect.

Looking to make a meaningful impact right here in Guelph? Our friends at Guelph Dance are looking for volunteers to support the festival next weekend.

Volunteer at the Guelph Dance Festival - June 5-7, 2026

It's that time of year! Support the arts and connect with others in our outstanding community!

Volunteers play a vital role in executing festival events by greeting patrons, directing people to performance locations/seats, collecting donations, and helping with set up or clean-up.

Volunteers who work three or more shifts will receive a complimentary ticket to Paratopias ON THE STAGE at River Run Centre.

It’s National Volunteer Week and while we don’t like to brag… our volunteers really are the best in the business.

Behind every Guelph Film Festival moment is a crew of thoughtful, dedicated humans making it all happen. From Board members offering steady leadership and shaping our programming, to Outreach volunteers building community connections and championing the festival far and wide.

From those early idea stages to showtime—whether you’re running box office, selling popcorn, setting up venues, managing tech (and using just the right amount of gaffer tape), introducing films, or stacking chairs with architectural precision—every role matters.

You bring care, creativity, and a whole lot of heart to this festival. We see it, and we’re deeply grateful.
