We were grateful to welcome Dr. Andrew Boozary to 10 Shelldale in Guelph today. His visit was a chance to highlight what we see every day at 10 Shelldale: Housing is Healthcare.
When supports are tailored to the needs of the community, the impact is clear.
From our recent Impact Report on 10 Shelldale:
• 87% of residents report improved stability and well‑being
• 78% feel more connected to community
• Significant reductions in emergency service use by residents
Permanent Supportive Housing Models like 10 Shelldale in Guelph and Dunn House in Toronto demonstrate that when care is seamlessly integrated with housing, it builds pathways to better health and stability.
We also saw today the Peer Support continues to be an essential bridge to helping residents access services and build trust with staff.
Through the influence of the Therapeutic Community model and the partnership between Kindle Communities, Guelph Community Health Centre, and Stonehenge, 10 Shelldale is creating belonging, ownership of space, and the foundation for long‑term well‑being.
