Lendr is a brand new startup company created by University of Guelph students that aims to promote renting and lending of consumer goods as opposed to buying, by easily connecting consumers with people who have goods for rent within a streamlined, user-friendly interface. Lendr exists because not only is renting easier on your wallet, it’s easier on the environment as well due to the inherent shar
ing and re-using aspect of renting goods. Lendr is essentially a hub where people can post, manage, and maintain their inventory and monitor their outbound rentals, and consumers can easily search through rental products based on their budget and location. Once a user finds a product they would like to rent, they simply fill out a form pertaining to when and for how long they would like to rent the item, and the respective business can then either accept or decline the request. Once accepted, the user picks up the item (or gets it delivered if the lendr offers delivery) on the agreed pickup date, and returns it on the agreed return date. If you’re not one for punctuality, worry not — managing schedules is a breeze through Lendr’s integrated scheduling system.
