One mother was advised to "throw the baby away," another told to kill her newborn son.

When baby Reagan’s head began to swell just two months after he was born, his parents were desperate for answers. A scan showed he had hydrocephalus, but the surgery he needed was far beyond what his family could afford. They tried everything they could, even turning to a traditional healer—but Reagan only grew worse.

Then his family was connected with our partner, CURE Children’s Hospital in Uganda.

Through MAF’s support, CURE’s medical team was flown from eastern Uganda to Mbarara in western Uganda for a medical camp, where more than 100 children were seen in just one day! The flight reduced what would have been a 12+ hour road journey to just four hours, helping doctors arrive safe, rested, and ready to care for patients.

For children like Reagan, that care has changed everything.

Many of their mothers were told there was no hope. But because of life-changing, affordable surgeries for conditions like hydrocephalus and spina bifida, these children are healing, growing, playing, sitting, walking, and living with renewed hope!

MAF flights help make that possible — connecting medical teams with children who urgently need care, and giving families a new chance to see their children thrive.

What an incredible time in Newfoundland! 🎶✈️

Our God of This City Tour with Aaron Boyd of Bluetree was filled with meaningful conversations, powerful worship, and unforgettable moments.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, and supported the events. We’re especially grateful for the new donors who joined the MAF family during the tour. Because of your generosity, we can continue reaching cut-off communities with life-saving aid, essential supplies, and the hope of the gospel.

There's something special about a room full of people united in worship and purpose. Thank you, Newfoundland, for welcoming us so warmly.

Until next time! ❤️

Say congrats to the 2026 graduates of the PATC aviation program! 🥳

This year at the Graduation Banquet, MAF's VP of Operations and Recruiting Lowell Deering presented three scholarships. Two students were awarded the MAF Scholarship and one received the MAF Fast Track Scholarship. The two MAF Scholarships are to help students who plan to go into missions, with some of the costs of training. The Fast Track scholarship enables the recipient to fast-track their application to MAF Canada with a monetary boost.

Prairie Aviation Training Centre has also received its new in-take of students who have completed the Bible portion of their training—14 more students ready to learn and grow in their aviation skills and spiritual formation!

If you are interested in learning about applying for or donating to our scholarship fund, you can learn more by visiting maf.ca/scholarshipfund.

The Ebola outbreak is ongoing, but Dominic Villeneuve and the team continue to bravely serve those affected, bringing necessary PPE and doctors to places that need it most.

After multiple days of paperwork, phone calls, and e-mails, they were finally authorized to do two flights to Entebbe, Uganda.

On the first flight, they picked up some doctors and the advanced team for Samaritan's Purse's Ebola response. On the second flight they brought a plane-load of PPE—it was filled to the brim! (Photo 5)

"It was a ton of work, but seeing the plane filled to ceiling for it's full length, and knowing that that freight will save many lives, made every single drop of sweat, each phone call, and all the missed sleep worth it," Dominic shares.

MAF's mission is to serve together to bring help, hope, and healing, and it is our greatest privilege to work with so many other organizations to help the Congolese people during this crisis.

Thank-you for your prayers and generous support!

We celebrate Deborah François, one of our missionaries, who has accomplished her first solo flight in Lesotho!

What was meant to be a routine flight bringing medicine and nurses to remote clinics turned into two emergency medevacs (medical evacuations).

“As I was dropping medicine at Kuebunyane, a nurse from the village ran up to me,” Deborah shared. “He asked me not to leave, since there was a woman who had just come into the clinic who was badly ill.” The woman was having a seizure, and Deborah was able to fly her to a hospital.

“I also picked up my second code 1 patient [there]. I brought this woman who had a broken leg back to the capital, Maseru.” It was an eventful first solo flight!

Deborah was warmly welcomed by her co-workers who were ready to celebrate this first solo flight by dousing her in water. It is MAF tradition to pour water on pilots after their first solo in the country they’re serving in.

We thank God for the ways that he works all things together, and that through Deborah, these two patients were able to get the help that they needed.

After over 50 years of translation work, the Ngalik people in Papua, Indonesia have received the full Bible in their own language!

MAF flights have been an integral part of this process, carrying supplies, people, and Scripture to the mountains.

We celebrate this news while recognizing that there is still a long way to go—so many Papuan people still don’t have God’s Word in their heart language.

Did you know that 70% of all MAF revenue goes directly to ministry impact?

Or that for every dollar spent on fundraising efforts, roughly six dollars are received?

At MAF, we value transparency with our donors.

You can read more about our financial statements, mission, and gospel-centred projects in our annual report. Visit maf.ca/annualreport.

As Ebola impacts eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mission Aviation Fellowship is conducting essential evacuation flights in response.

The outbreak is centred in Ituri Province, where Bunia is not only the provincial capital, but also home to MAF’s base in eastern DRC.

MAF recently carried out an evacuation flight for the family of an American doctor who tested positive for Ebola while serving at Nyankunde Hospital. Piloted by Canadian MAF missionary Dominic Villeneuve, the flight safely transported the doctor’s wife — also a physician — their children, and another exposed doctor from the DRC to Uganda. The American doctor was evacuated separately to Germany for specialized treatment.

All evacuation operations are conducted in close coordination with public health officials and government authorities.

MAF has served in the DRC since 1961 and has an established Ebola Management Plan developed through previous outbreaks. This is the 17th recorded Ebola outbreak in the country since 1976.

All MAF staff remain in good health and are taking appropriate precautions as they continue to serve. Please join us in praying for those affected by this outbreak, for wisdom and protection for medical teams and responders, for swift containment, and for the continued safety of MAF staff and families in eastern DRC.

Today is International Day to End Obstetric Fistula.

Thousands of women who don’t have access to a nearby hospital suffer from obstetric fistula—a tear in the body that can kill the mother and her child during birth. If the mother survives, though, the baby becomes stuck and eventually dies. Some women who didn’t know they had obstetric fistula, or had no way to help it, have been in labour for a week or longer. For women who survive a birth with obstetric fistula, they often come away with a bladder than uncontrollably leaks. This leads to shame, rejection, and trauma.

But there is hope —obstetric fistula is completely curable and preventable!

With your help, we are flying these women to far away hospitals for lifesaving surgeries, and telling villages about prevention techniques.

As a result of these prevention techniques, these women from Angola can now hold their precious child in their arms!

You are making a difference. Visit Maf.ca/lift to join us in our mission of ending obstetric fistula.
