ANAF Club 344 Guelph

ANAF Club 344 Guelph Welcome to Club 344 of the ANAF! Join us for events, parties, dinners, darts and more. We also have some of the best drink prices in the downtown area!

While membership is encouraged, everyone is welcome to come out and have a great time. Did you know that the Army, Navy & Air Force Veterans in Canada is Canada's oldest veterans' association? Although the precise start-date is obscured by time, it is known that a charter was given in 1840 by Queen Victoria, and was originally composed of volunteers who answered the call of the Canadian Government

for active service during the Fenian Raids of 1860, 1870 and 1871, the Red River Expedition of 1870, and the North-West Rebellion of 1885. Club 344 is still an active ANAF Unit dedicated to assisting Canadian Veterans in Guelph, as well as making charitable donations to groups and organizations throughout our community. We're also a great place to hang out and have a pint, play some darts and enjoy some great company. And yes, you too can become a member!

Passing along the sad news of the loss of our beloved Liz McLaren-Davies. She was our bartender at the ANAF for Golden Throats Karaoke for years, and I’m not exaggerating when I say she became like family to us. We literally love her. She was so sassy and strong and hilarious and caring and devoted. Even years after she stopped bartending for us she continued to reach out and connect, to give gifts, to make sure everyone was doing okay, and to extend condolences when we lost a friend. She was so deeply authentic and badass. We’re absolutely crushed by this loss and know we will never meet another like her.

Our next karaoke on Sept 19th will be in honour of Liz - if you were around in her era and she had a favourite request she’d give you, feel free to sing it. But honestly just sing whatever brings you joy and makes you feel powerful and strong and beautiful and hilarious like her.

We’re closing the door but we’re opening a bottle of wine and we know you’re right here with us ❤️💔🍷

“With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Elizabeth “Liz” McLaren-Davies, who left us just two days shy of celebrating 37 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Robin.

Liz was the proud and loving mother of Dylan (Emily), cherished sister to Kate McLaren, and a devoted aunt to Will, Vita, and Christina. She was predeceased by her parents, Pearl and Jim, and her brothers, W***y and Chris.

Liz was outgoing, fun, and the undeniable life of every party. She had an army of friends and a warmth that drew people in. Generous to a fault, she gave her love freely—and often with a glass of wine in hand and her dog, Annie, by her side.
A life well led by a lady well loved. Liz leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love, and unforgettable memories. She will be deeply missed.

Cremation has taken place.
A Celebration of Life will take place at the ANAF Club:
32 Gordon St
Guelph, On Sunday,
Oct 5th, from 1pm till 4 pm

As expressions of sympathy, donations to Hospice Wellington in memory of Liz would be appreciated by the family.”
