WUSC Guelph Education Changes the World. Local Committee Meetings run every Monday at 5:30, Rm. 311 Mackinnon. We will be hosting 1-2 professors who will speak on the topic.

We always love to see new people, feel free to come check it out! Our Local Committee has chosen to focus on two programs to make ourselves most effective in the work that we do with WUSC! The Student Refugee Program

Each year our local committee sponsors two or three students from refugee camps to study at the University of Guelph. With the support of the University of Guelph Administration and

the undergraduate student body we are able to make this happen! The Uniterra Symposium: Ethical Consumption

In March we will be hosting the Uniterra Symposium on ethical consumption. Furthermore, we will host a viewing of a documentary pertaining to the topic. The goal of this symposium is to spread ideas about consuming more ethically in our daily lives.

Are you looking to get involved in your university community? Are you interested in working with equity-seeking populations? Then, consider joining the World University Service of Canada (WUSC) Local Committee at the University of Guelph. The WUSC Local Committee is comprised of the Executive Team and the Student Refugee Program (SRP) Team. The Exec team aims to increase awareness of WUSC and refugee issues in our campus community, whereas the SRP team works directly with sponsored refugee students to help them transition into life in university and Canada.
