🍂 Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Stepping Stone! 🧡

This Thanksgiving, we are reminded of just how grateful we are for the incredible community that surrounds us.

A special thank you to the Coptic Church for their generous donations to our sites and for continuously showing up for our community, not just during the holidays, but all throughout the year. Your kindness and ongoing support mean so much to us!

We are also incredibly thankful for our donors, supporters, dedicated staff, and, of course, the guests and tenants who are at the heart of everything we do. Each of you plays an important role in making Stepping Stone what it is today.

From our Stepping Stone family to yours, we wish you a Thanksgiving filled with warmth, kindness, and connection. 🍁

Today is World Homeless Day.

When people think about homelessness, they often think about shelters.

But ending homelessness takes so much more.

It means preventing homelessness before it happens. Helping someone find a safe place to sleep tonight. Connecting people to health care, income and community supports. Finding housing. And continuing to walk alongside people as they build stability in their new home.

At Stepping Stone, we're proud to be not just a shelter.

Every day, our teams are working across the housing journey - from prevention and emergency shelter to transitional and permanent supportive housing - with one goal in mind:

Housing people out of the shelter system.

Because the goal isn't to help people become better at experiencing homelessness.

The goal is to end it.

A municipal election is coming on October 26th. 🗳️

Your vote is an opportunity to ask questions, learn about candidates, and understand their plans for our community.

We encourage you to include housing and homelessness in the conversation. Ask candidates what they’ll do, how they’ll work with community partners, and how they’ll measure progress.

Hear directly from candidates, consider their platforms and records, and make an informed decision based on the issues that matter to you.

Let’s make sure homelessness is part of the conversation this election.

A heartfelt thank you to St. Philopater Coptic Orthodox Church for hosting another wonderful BBQ at our housing-focused shelter! ❤️🍔

The BBQ was a great success, with a fantastic turnout from the community and almost everyone from the shelter coming out to participate. It was wonderful to see so many people come together, share a meal, and enjoy each other’s company.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the event such a positive and memorable one! 🙏

We are so grateful to the University of Guelph - Experiential Learning students who joined us for Project Serve last Saturday, a volunteer day where students come together to support local organizations like ours. Their time, helping hands, and enthusiasm made a real impact here at Stepping Stone. It was such a meaningful day for our community, and we loved having you with us! 💙
