Stepping up into leadership at Speed River Toastmasters isn’t about having all the answers—it’s about being willing to take a step forward and grow. Leadership matters because it helps shape the direction and feel of our club.
It gives us a chance to practice guiding others, making decisions, and building confidence. Nurturing relationships is at the heart of both personal growth and success, especially in a community like Toastmasters International and right here at Speed River Toastmasters.
Strong relationships create trust, encouragement, and a sense of belonging—things that help us step outside our comfort zones and grow as speakers and leaders. Nurturing relationships also help us Recharge—they lift our mindset, renew our energy, and remind us that we’re not on this journey alone.
It means being intentional: listening actively, showing appreciation, offering support, and being present for others. It’s not about grand gestures, but consistent, small actions that build connection over time. These relationships are achieved through genuine interest in others, open communication, and a willingness to give as much as we receive.
