A team of 19 and 20-year-olds from Alberta flew to Tampa earlier this year on a GO Trip. White sand, palm trees, the kind of weather Albertans don't see for half the year.

They barely noticed.

On a walk along the pier after a long day on the University of South Florida campus, one of the guys broke the quiet: "This feels wrong. It's been like 20 minutes since we shared the gospel with anyone."

Without missing a beat, the team started talking with the people around them on the pier. That was the rhythm of the whole trip. A few days later, while helping a local church set up a festival, they noticed one of the vendors wasn't connected to the church—she was working her booth, getting through the day. They told her what Jesus had done for them and asked if she wanted Him to do the same for her. She prayed with them right there and asked to meet the pastor. She's been attending that church ever since.

When the mission gets clear, the distractions get quiet.

Alexandre is 27 and naturally shy. The first time he ever shared the gospel on the streets was on a GO Trip to Ivory Coast.

On day one, his hands went tense as he realized how nervous he was. Walking up to strangers, in a country he'd never been to, speaking about Jesus — the whole thing felt like too much.

But a few conversations in, something shifted. When he noticed a man standing nearby, he walked over and shared his testimony. Then he asked, “Do you want to accept Jesus?”

The man said yes.

Days later, Alexandre stood in front of hundreds of kids at a school and shared his testimony again. Public speaking has always been hard for him, but he said yes anyway

One thing the 27-year-old discovered on the other side of the world: the hardest part is the first step. Once you take it, things get easier.

Notice what the psalmist doesn't say.

He doesn't say prove or overexplain. He doesn't say argue someone into agreement.

He says taste—experience it firsthand.

When we share the gospel with someone, we aren't asking them to accept our conclusions. We're inviting them to encounter a Person. To see what happens when they trust the One who makes all things new.

Our job isn't to talk anyone into anything. It's to point people in Jesus' direction and say, "See for yourself."

The Gospel Outreach team has wrapped up their time in Brazil. Here’s a look at how the trip unfolded.

It began with travel chaos—long delays, changing plans, and even a neighbourhood power outage. But the team arrived with steady hearts and a simple “yes” to what God had ahead.

In Tomé-Açu, a municipality in Pará, Brazil, they partnered with local churches, hosted Ignite trainings, and built real connections.

Then an unexpected door opened. A Japanese school that had been closed to the gospel for years invited the team in. What began as a cultural visit became a clear opportunity to share the gospel with students in their classrooms.

The days that followed took the team into homes, schools, churches, and communities. These places were full of hope but also deep hurt. They prayed, listened, and pointed again and again to the hope found in Christ.

Some plans changed because of heavy rain, tiredness, or long days. But still, God worked in classrooms, living rooms, and neighbourhoods.

The team returns tired, but thankful. They feel changed by what God has done. They are also hopeful for what He will do next through the relationships built on this trip.
