When we talk about our J.O.E. Pasta Dinner, we can’t talk about the night without talking about Holy Rosary Catholic Parish.
Holy Rosary has supported J.O.E. and our dinner for many years. The hall is reserved for us well in advance, the parish works with us throughout the planning, and they continue to share our dinner and J.O.E.’s mission with their community — even taking the time to mention us during Sunday Masses without us ever having to ask.
And so much of that connection comes through Josephine and Ann.
They put countless hours into making this dinner happen — coordinating with the hall, collecting donations and door prizes, helping with ticket sales and promotion, organizing details, setting up, cleaning up, and making sure that all the little things that need to happen actually happen. Their work starts long before dinner night and continues after everyone has gone home.
This year, we were also so happy to have Jon Lankin join in and help from the beginning of the day right through to the end.
And then there is the incredible group of people from Holy Rosary who step up every year to help J.O.E.
A huge thank you to Chef Mike, Joey M., Anna R., Catherine W., Christine C., Jeanne L., Christina Redmond, Shaun Redmond, Bill Williamson and Ed McAnany for helping in the kitchen and making sure everything was ready for our guests.
A special thank you to Johanna, Ann’s friend, who looked after the ticket table, and Leslie and Linda, who took care of serving drinks and looking after everyone at the bar.
And we can’t forget Maria Coleman, Ann’s sister, who took on the very big job of washing all the pots and pans! That was a lot of work, and we truly appreciate her help.
Thank you as well to the many members of the Catholic Women’s League and Holy Rosary Parish Community who helped with food preparation, serving, set-up, clean-up and everything in between. So many people stepped in wherever they were needed, and every bit of help made a difference.
We also want to thank Father Boyd for joining us again this year, and Mary C., who came back to support J.O.E. and is always willing to make time when we need an extra hand.
There is so much more to this partnership than having a place to hold our dinner.
It’s people who continue to show up for J.O.E., year after year. And we are very lucky to have that kind of community behind us. ❤️
