Districts 8 & 9 Farm Tour Highlights Innovation in Pasture-Based Sheep Production!
Sheep producers from across Ontario came together on the weekend of May 25 for an engaging farm tour through Districts 8 and 9, where they explored two successful pasture-based sheep operations: Drover's Way Farm and Black Kreek Ranch.
The tour offered a firsthand look at innovative approaches to pasture lambing and flock management, giving participants the opportunity to see practical strategies in action. Discussions covered everything from working dogs and rotational grazing systems to rearing bottle lambs and managing ewes and lambs on pasture.
Beyond the valuable learning opportunities, the event provided a chance for producers to connect, exchange ideas, and share experiences with fellow sheep farmers from across the province.
