A great end to a great year! In June our cadets spent the day in Toronto visiting Ripley’s Aquarium and taking in a Blue Jays game. From amazing exhibits to a Jays victory and even a surprise appearance on the jumbo screen, it was a memorable day together. Looking forward to an exciting year ahead! 🚍🐠⚾️

☀️ Summer Shout-out ☀️
1882 was proudly represented on the Expedition Team Member (ETM) Course this summer by our very own Molly Dale. We are thrilled to celebrate her achievement of being named Top Overall Cadet on her ETM serial. This prestigious recognition reflects her hard work, dedication, and outstanding team-oriented attitude throughout the course. Her commitment and positive example made her a standout among her peers. Congratulations on this well-deserved accomplishment. We are incredibly proud of you. Keep up the great work! 👏🏅

☀️ Summer Spotlight ☀️
Our very own WO Hobson is serving as a Staff Cadet for Fitness & Sports this summer at Blackdown CTC. Recently, he was invited to shadow the Cadet RSM during parade practice and was given the opportunity to command a parade of over 1,000 course cadets. Experiences like these showcase the unique leadership opportunities our program offers. Well done, WO Hobson! 👏🇨🇦

1882 Army Cadets took part in a CAF engagement activity where the 11 FD Artillery Reserve unit shared their kit and equipment. Cadets enjoyed hands-on experience with the tools of the trade, asking plenty of questions and learning directly from reservists. The interaction sparked curiosity, built understanding of service, and gave cadets a closer look at life in the Canadian Armed Forces. It was an engaging, informative opportunity that strengthened connections between youth and the military. A big thank you to our affiliated unit. 🪖

❄️🔥 EX ARCTIC GUNNER 🔥❄️

Cold? ✅️Snow?✅️ Cadets ready to get after it? ✅️✅️

In February, cadets from 1882 “The Wellington Rifles” RCACC, 1943 Norwell (Palmerston) RCACC, 361 Fergus Artillery RCACC, 99 Lynx RCACS, 895 Fred Campbell V.C RCACS, and 734 Alliston RCACS hit Blackdown Cadet Training Centre for a proper winter FTX.

We pushed through snowshoeing, Toboggan pulling, building improvised shelters, Arctic tent setup and tear-down, and keeping field amenities running in freezing temps. Leadership was tested, teamwork was built, and morale stayed high. Nothing slows down motivated cadets.

Exercise Arctic Gunner wasn’t just about surviving the cold, it was about getting stronger, working together, and proving what cadets are made of.

Cold conditions. High morale. Tough cadets. Mission accomplished. ❄️💪

🎄 Wrapping Up 2025 with Gratitude and Cheer! 🎄
Before the holidays, our cadet unit came together with our sister affiliated cadet corps (Fergus Army Cadets and Norwell Army Cadets) for a festive Mess Dinner filled with camaraderie, laughter, and tradition. It was a wonderful way to celebrate the season and the incredible efforts of the cadets and staff throughout the year.
As we close out 2025, we hope everyone has had a Happy Holiday Season and a safe, joyful start to the New Year. Thank you for your dedication and spirit, our corps is stronger because of each of you.
We look forward to seeing everyone back for training in 2026. Let’s make it another year of growth, teamwork, and success! 💪✨

🎯 Sharpshooters in the Making!
Our cadets are honing their marksmanship skills with a focus on precision, breathing control, and mental discipline. Every shot counts as they learn to achieve tight groupings and sharpen their ability to stay calm and focused under pressure. It’s not just about hitting the target, it’s about mastering the art of patience and control. 💪
