The annual spring hawk migration is underway! ✨

Since 1975 birdwatchers have gathered at Beamer Memorial Conservation to track the spring migration. Almost all birds of prey migrating north into Ontario must go around Lake Ontario and Lake Erie, making Beamer a prime spot to witness the journey. 🌍

Want to see it for yourself? Join Niagara Peninsula Hawkwatch volunteers until May 15 and catch these magnificent raptors in action!

The recent push of warm air has kick-started the spring raptor migration. The coming week should bring good numbers of Red-tailed Hawk, Turkey Vulture, and Red-shouldered Hawk over Beamer Memorial Conservation Area.

We should also see a few Rough-legged Hawks on their journey back to the Arctic.
