The Northern Brass Choir will soothe your soul with the music of Bach, Barber, Joplin and Coultrane and then join the Band for an epic rendition of John Williams’ Superman’ March you will not want to miss.

THE NO STRINGS ATTACHED COMMUNITY BAND was founded by Sandra McMillian while studying at Laurentian University in 2001. Sandra saw that there was a need for a community Concert Band in Sudbury to give amateur musicians a place to play and over two decades later the Band is still following this mandate. The band is comprised of “students to seniors” providing a place for wind, brass and percussion (and the occasional string bass player) to pick up their instruments again or to just come practice in a welcoming atmosphere. The NSACB provides entertaining performances for the public, and has raised thousands of dollars for charity along the way.
THE NORTHERN BRASS CHOIR was established in January, 1993, by three members of the Northern Brass Quartet: Charlotte Leonard, Richard Perras and Peter Scherzinger. The purpose was to create a community ensemble that would provide brass musicians with playing opportunities beyond what they can experience in a band or orchestra. Since that time the group has included high school, college, and university students, as well as community players, professional musicians, and retired persons. Their repertoire covers Renaissance through contemporary and popular music. They have performed with the Bel Canto Chorus, Sudbury Chamber Singers, Octatonic Decadence, Laurentian University Choir, Nickel City Winds, No Strings Attached, the Campana Bells, as well as at the Northern Ontario Music Festival and numerous schools in northeastern Ontario. The ensemble has also appeared as a guest with the Sudbury Symphony Orchestra and for the Joan Mantle Music Trust Fund Concert.
