The Education Foundation Board of Directors will be meeting this week to appoint the Scholarship Selection Committee. The committee will then begin the important process of reviewing applications and selecting this year’s scholarship recipients.

Things are really coming together! 💛

Our new kitchen is getting closer to completion, and we want to thank our incredible community for all the encouragement and support we have received along the way.

A special thank-you to our wonderful neighbour at Trekkers Outdoor Ltd., who jumped in to help our delivery driver, Joan, get today’s delivery through the door!

COMING SOON:
✨NourishED After-School Snack Packs! ✨

For some students, the final school bell means returning home to an empty cupboard. The Grande Prairie & District Education Foundation is preparing to help change that.

Our NourishED After-School Snack Packs will provide students with a variety of nutritious foods, including homemade snacks, fresh fruit and vegetables, baked goods, and much more.

Our goal is to prepare 100 snack packs every week—and we need our community’s help!

💙 30 Years Together — Building Stronger Futures

For 30 years, the Grande Prairie & District Education Foundation has grown alongside our community—responding to needs, creating opportunities, and helping remove barriers so students can succeed.

And now… we’re moving! 🎉

We are so excited for our new office and kitchen space, a place where ideas will become programs, volunteers will come together, meals will be prepared, and community support will turn into real opportunities for students in our communities.

A new space doesn’t change who we are or the work we do. It gives us the opportunity to do even more.💛

Our commitment remains the same: removing barriers in education and ensuring students have the support they need to learn, grow and thrive.

And this kitchen? It’s about to get busy! 🥪🍎❤️

💛 30 Years of InspirED — Unique Educational Opportunities

For 30 years, the Grande Prairie & District Education Foundation has worked to create opportunities that take learning beyond the classroom and allow students to discover what inspires them.

Through the incredible support of Weyerhaeuser, Northwestern Alberta Foundation, International Paper and Swan City Rotary Club the Foundation has been able to secure funding for the Grande Prairie Career Academy.

The Career Academy gives junior and senior high school students opportunities to EXPLORE, ENGAGE and EXPERIENCE a wide variety of career paths — building skills, discovering new interests and gaining hands-on experiences that can help shape their futures.

This is InspirED💡

Our InspirED Pillar brings unique educational opportunities, special projects and experiential learning to life when traditional funding may not be available. It’s about igniting creativity, building confidence and creating meaningful learning experiences for students.

💙 30 Years of EmpowerED — Supporting Success

For 30 years, the Grande Prairie & District Education Foundation has worked alongside incredible community partners to help remove barriers and create opportunities for students.

We are grateful to International Paper for helping us bring hands-on learning into the classroom. Through their generous support, the Foundation was able to secure $30,000 in grant funding for STEM equipment through our EmpowerED Pillar.

These tools give students the opportunity to explore, experiment, problem-solve and learn by doing — turning classroom lessons into real-world experiences and opening doors to future possibilities.

For 30 years, the Grande Prairie & District Education Foundation has worked to ensure that a student's circumstances never determine their opportunity to succeed.

Through our EmpowerED Pillar, we support high school students who may not otherwise be able to afford the technology they need for their education.

We are incredibly grateful to Weyerhaeuser for their many years of sponsorship and continued support of the Education Foundation. Community partners like Weyerhaeuser have helped us put essential learning tools directly into the hands of students who need them.
