It is once again time for the annual Merv Crouse’s Coats for Kids campaign put on by Crouse's Cleaners

If you’re pulling out winter bins and finding jackets or snow gear your family has outgrown, they will gratefully take them off your hands and get them to folks that need it.

Drop off gently used winter wear at 10007 98 Ave anytime between October 1 and October 31. Their team cleans every single piece so it’s fresh, warm, and ready for local families.

What they can take: • Winter coats and snowsuits • Ski and snow pants • Toques, scarves, gloves, and mittens
(All sizes welcome, with a special focus on kids)

A quick note on what they cannot accept:
Boots, wool/leather/suede, or items that are torn or broken.

Everything collected will be cleaned by the incredible crew and handed out free of charge through the Grande Prairie Family Education Society (9607-102 St) between October 15 and November 13.

Spooky season is back and so is our annual decorating contest!

Decorate your outdoor space - house, yard, patio, door, balcony, etc and send us a picture and the address by October 22.

Voting begins October 23 and a map of all entries will be available for folks to view on a neighbourhood walk. Please share with all your friends and neighbours in Patterson Place, South Patterson and Corner Stone.

Mayor Jackie Clayton has proclaimed September 10 to 19, 2026, as Welcoming Week in Grande Prairie. Members of the Grande Prairie Local Immigration Partnership (GPLIP) joined Mayor Clayton and City Council to receive the proclamation.

This year’s theme, “Stories We Share: The Courage to Connect,” highlights the importance of listening, learning from one another and recognizing the different experiences that help shape our community.

Welcoming Week is an opportunity to recognize the contributions of new and long-time residents and the role connection plays in building a community where people feel welcomed and valued.

The stories and experiences of those who call Grande Prairie home are part of what makes our community what it is today.

Experience Grande Prairie returns Friday, August 28 with a free outdoor concert at Bonnetts Energy Centre! 🎸

This year’s celebration takes place throughout the Bonnetts Energy Centre site, with live music on the outdoor stage, food vendors, b**r gardens and activities outside, plus community booths, merch and more interactive activities inside.

Enjoy a free evening of live music headlined by Canadian rock legends Trooper, with additional performances by The Northbloods, Brad Sims and the Markevich Youth Band.

Experience Grande Prairie is presented by the City of Grande Prairie in partnership with 97.7 Rock, with support from the Downtown Association and supporting stage sponsorship from Servus Credit Union.

Unfortunately the skate park is leaving Alexander Forbes Outdoor Rink due to vandalism.

Fortunately we wanted to find some local artists to help us with some vinyl wraps for garbage bins and utility boxes.

Take a look and “like” your favourite, or share a photo of other artwork you think would look good in the neighbourhood.

If the artists want to come forward and accept responsibility for their actions, they are welcome to come help clean the equipment and work with us on an appropriate and valued display of their art.
