After a broken air line, broken starter and 2 blown tires the convoy made it to Nogales, Arizona. Due to all the conflicts in Mexico it was decided to end the trip there. In Nogales they were met by Pepe & Cocho, Mazatlan Rotarians. They would get the fire trucks across the border & had arranged for some Mexican fire fighters to drive them to their destinations. The trucks were delivered to Mazatlan, Villa Union. Monterry(Municipality of Pesqueria) & Mizantla.
We would like to thank all the drivers for taking the time to drive all these fire trucks. A huge thank you to Norm & Mark for arranging everything. Also thanks to Pepe & Cocho, for their working in getting the trucks across the border & finding good homes for them. These trucks will be helping to safe lives for many years.

Highway to Mexico has been successfully over the last 24 years thanks to the hard work of many people both in Canada & Mexico.

The Rotary Highway to Mexico 2026 has successfully delivered four fire trucks to Fire Departments in Mexico. Over 25 years, the team has donated 134 fire trucks, ambulances and school buses to agencies in Mexico.

Shari and Murray are veteran Highway to Mexico drivers and were pleased to make the trip on behalf of the Rotary Club of Edson. Shari has been on HTM for 5 trips and Murray has done 12. We need to thank the 2026 HTM team for a job well done on the 5 day, 3500 km drive to Nogales. There were a few bumps along the way, and the crew just smiled and soldiered on.

We would like to thank Norm and Mark and the Grande Prairie Rotary Clubs for their leadership. Our sincere appreciation to the Rotary Clubs of Mazatlan for managing the Highway to Mexico Project. In particular, Pepe and Cacho for their continued support and leadership over the last 25 years. We also thank all of the drivers for their efforts and friendship on the road.

The Flagstaff, AZ Fire Department welcomed us into their house and helped us wash and clean all the fire trucks.

We also appreciate the efforts of the Mexican Fire Departments serving their people and communities each and every day with resources provided by Rotary. We are pleased be a small part of their success.

The adventure continues….looking forward to the next HTM!
