Sunburn on a Motorcycle Ride

Sunburn on a motorcycle ride is more than a comfort issue.

It can lead to fatigue, dehydration, distraction, and added physical stress that affects how well a rider feels and functions on the road.

Long hours in direct sunlight can expose the face, neck, wrists, and any skin left uncovered between pieces of gear.

Even riders who are fully focused on helmets, jackets, and gloves can forget how much damage the sun can do over the course of a day.

A painful burn can make it harder to stay comfortable, alert, and focused by the time the ride is over.

That is why sun protection should be part of your riding routine, not an afterthought.

Apply sunscreen before you leave, and reapply it during longer rides or rest stops when needed.

Use proper coverage wherever possible, including neck protection, long sleeves, and gear that reduces exposed skin.
Lips and the lower face can also take a beating in the sun, especially on long open-road rides.

A little prevention can make a major difference in how you feel during and after the trip.

Protecting your skin helps reduce fatigue and supports better comfort, focus, and hydration throughout the ride.
On a motorcycle, even small physical distractions can affect safety.
