Please keep an eye out and slow down for all the kids returning to school tomorrow. The littlest ones are new at this and just learning the rules of crosswalks and school zones. Be careful and welcome back everyone to another year of learning in Grande Prairie!

It's a tough job but someone has to do it 🤣 I've convinced the Grande Prairie Firefighters Charitable Foundation to let me emcee their charity calendar release party for a fourth time, and we're just a few weeks away from the big night!

Huge thank you to everyone who came out and enjoyed the day with us at our 13th annual Charity Golf fundraiser in support of the Grande Prairie Firefighters Charitable Foundation. This event gives them the funds to support upcoming school lunch programs, and help give local families support during the holiday season ⛳️ 🚒

After 25 years of dedicated service to the City of Grande Prairie Fire Department, Fire Prevention Officer Leann Johnson has announced her retirement 🎉

Leann’s career has been defined by an extraordinary dedication to the two roles she performed over her tenure.
From that of 911 Dispatcher where she began, to Fire Prevention Officer III, where she will be retiring. Leann has consistently gone above and beyond for her community whether it was taking calls and assigning resources to emergency scenes all day and all night for years, or to her most recent efforts in teaching fire safety, code compliance throughout our city. Her work has not only strengthened the Fire Department and Prevention Branch but has also contributed significantly to the safety of our community.

We are grateful for Leann’s 25 years of service, her fierce commitment to the job, and her unwavering dedication to making this community safer.

Please join us in congratulating Leann on her retirement and wishing her all the very best as she begins her next chapter. Thank you for your exceptional service 🌟 👏
