Our thoughts are with all of those involved in the unfathomable tragedy at CFB Wainwright last night.

We want to thank the hospital workers, first responders, and military responders for doing everything they can to assist in this sad situation ❤️

You may have noticed some action on Resources Road at station 1 this week.

Aerial Operations training was performed with Ladder 1 and Ladder 3. A group of our 3rd and 2nd class firefighters were put through a full week of Aerial Ops training by our own trainers to learn how to pump, drive, and operate the largest rigs in our fleet. This step is a large part of progression training which these members need to achieve before promotion to 1st class firefighters, where they will eventually be able to operate every truck at all three fire stations in Grande Prairie 🚒

Since 2007, we’ve donated about $1.3 million to our community. Thank you to everyone who’s supported us along the way.

It started with the Grande Prairie Firefighters Association and a simple idea: the people who protect this community should help lift it up too.

Nearly 20 years later, that hasn’t changed. 100% of what we raise stays right here, supporting local families and individuals.

🚒 Who are we?

You may have supported one of our fundraisers, purchased a firefighter calendar or seen us at a community event. We’d like to introduce the people and purpose behind it all.

We are the Grande Prairie Firefighters Charitable Foundation, established in 2007 by the Grande Prairie Fire Fighters Association and run by City of Grande Prairie firefighters who are passionate about making our community a better place to live.

Grande Prairie is where we work, raise our families and call home. Our commitment to the people here extends beyond responding to emergencies.

Our foundation brings firefighters, local businesses and community members together to support families, individuals and charitable organizations. 100% of the profits raised go toward supporting our community.

Behind every fundraiser are people who care—and behind every donation is someone helping us make a difference.

Over the next few posts, we’ll share more about the work we do, the causes we support and how you can get involved.

We’re proud to serve Grande Prairie, on duty and beyond. ❤️

🔋 Les batteries lithium-ion alimentent tout, des téléphones cellulaires aux vélos électriques. Mais lorsqu'ils sont endommagés, mal utilisés ou mal chargés, ils peuvent provoquer des incendies dangereux.
