Enhancing healthcare in northwestern Alberta since 1984.

The primary purpose of the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital Foundation is to enhance the quality of health care in our community by raising money for the priority and specialized needs of the our Grande Prairie Regional Hospital and the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital. The Foundation plays a critical role in funding for essential specialized equipment, major projects, patient care programs and education.

Send us a quick email and our volunteers will set you up with a SECRET gingerbread recipe and our super sticky icing recipe to make a ONE-OF-A-KIND gingerbread showstopper to be displayed throughout the festival along Gingerbread Lane. It's free to participate! 🍪

Every year, thousands of people from Grande Prairie and surrounding regions rely on Grande Prairie Regional Hospital for life-changing, urgent, and ongoing care.

👶 1,555 babies delivered
🏥 9,936 surgical procedures
🚑 60,041 emergency room visits
🎗️ 10,613 cancer visits
❤️ 11,010 total admissions

And of those admissions, 5,754 were patients from outside Grande Prairie, that's more than half!
For these patients and their families, travelling for medical care can mean added costs, stress, and time away from home. That’s why the Ken Sargent House is so important.

The 21-suite home away from home will provide welcoming and affordable accommodation close to care for individuals and families who need to be in Grande Prairie for medical treatment.

Terra M took the opportunity to email us her story to honour the healthcare professional who made a meaningful difference in her life:

"I wanted to reach out to commend Forest, an amazing ER nurse that extended amazing, empathetic, patient-centered care from the moment she stepped in my room and introduced herself as my night shift nurse. She went above and beyond and provided a high-quality patient care experience. I felt heard, acknowledged and like I had a chance to express myself and my concerns. She answered all my questions and advocated for me. She didn't rush even though I'm sure she was very busy. There really are no words for how grateful I am that she was a part of my care team. Nurses like her make a world of difference to patients like me! Thank you, Forest, for all that you do!"

Hey Foundation Friends! We need your help.

Our GPRH is running out of stuffies for our pediatric patients. These stuffies provide comfort and distraction to our youngest patients.

The Teddy Bear Program is only possible because of the strong support from the region by way of donating teddy bears (new with tags) as well as financial donations for our Foundation to order stuffies as needed.

Learn more about this important program and how you can help make a child's stay at our hospital a little more comfortable.
