Today, we pause to honour the brave Canadians who served during the Korean War and to remember the sacrifices they made in defending freedom.

On Korean War Veterans Day, we pay tribute to the more than 26,000 Canadians who answered the call to serve, and to the 516 Canadians who made the ultimate sacrifice. Their courage, resilience, and dedication helped shape history and continue to inspire future generations.

At the Veterans Association, we are proud to support those who have served our country. Today, we encourage everyone to take a moment to remember the service and sacrifice of our Korean War Veterans and thank them for their lasting legacy.
Lest We Forget.

Questions About Best Before Dates? We've Got You Covered!

We've had several people ask about food donation date guidelines, so we wanted to share some helpful information.

Many foods remain safe and nutritious well beyond their Best Before date. A Best Before date refers to quality, not food safety.

As a general guideline, we can often accept unopened, shelf-stable foods past their Best Before date when they are in good condition.

Examples include:
🥫 Canned goods: Up to 1 year past the Best Before date
🍝 Pasta, rice & dried beans: Up to 1 year past the Best Before date
🥣 Cereal, oatmeal, crackers & cookies: Up to 6 months past the Best Before date
🍅 Condiments & sauces (unopened): Typically up to 6 months past the Best Before date

Before donating, please take a moment to check your items.

🚫 Please do not donate:
• Food with an Expiry Date that has passed
• Opened packages
• Rusted, bulging, leaking, or severely dented cans
• Items showing signs of spoilage
• Products that are many years beyond their Best Before date

📍 Donation Drop-Off Location:
#102, 10920 – 84 Avenue, Grande Prairie

Every donation helps us provide safe, nutritious food to Veterans and their families in need. Thank you for your generosity and for taking the time to learn about safe food donations. Your support truly makes a difference! ❤️
