It has been a while! While I (Lindsy Coney) was away in Ireland, the summer Youth Workers Hannah Donald and Taylor Tapson did an amazing job with our August programming.

I want to express my deepest gratitude to Hannah and Taylor, and showcase some of what they did this past month. Also, we wish them the best in their future endeavours! Taylor will start her first teaching position, and Hannah is heading to SAIT to study Film Production - thank you for everything, and all the best! 🪶🥰♥

July flew by in a flash, but what luck to get to be outdoors, on the land and at camp with many of our favourite youth, families and partner programs/organizations this month!

The Friendship Project Sleep-Away Camp was a hit again at Camp Artaban in Grimshaw - Thank you Sagitawa Friendship Society, New High Level Native Friendship Centre Society and the Northern Indigenous Health Alliance - HIV Outreach in Alberta's North for a wonderful partnership!

The 2026 Family Culture Camp followed shortly after, where we got to spend 4 days with more youth and families than ever at Beaverlodge Boys and Girls Camp along the beautiful Red Willow River. Thanks once again Sagitawa Friendship Society and the wonderful Grande Prairie Babies' Best Start program, as well as Elder Barb Goodswimmer, Sarah with Northern Indigenous Health Alliance - HIV Outreach in Alberta's North, Natascha Okimaw with Natawihowin Health Navigation, Terri Lynn Mitchell, and my sister Robin Hill and sister/cousin Becky Jones, and all who helped or presented- love you all! To all you youth and families who make work feel like home, I'm grateful for our memories made together 🥰🪶

To Taylor and Hannah Donald, the best Summer Youth Workers around, the camps would not have been the same without you! 💗

As I, Lindsy Coney, leave for a much needed rest, I leave the program still open for August, and in great hands with our Summer Youth Workers! Check out our August Calendar, and please feel free to message them with any questions or inquiries at [email protected].
