The GF fall fair graciously lent us their tables and chairs for our annual wildlife banquet in April. It’s time to lend a hand to return the favour.
Volunteers are needed for set up on Monday Sept 7th at 8am, meet at the curling rink. And again on Sunday Sept 13th at 3pm to clean up the fall fair. Please let me know if you are available to help for a few hours.

Hope everyone has enjoyed their summer and is ready for hunting season.

A reminder that the club has a freezer for CWD samples located at 5505 Cooper Rd in Grand Forks, and it is open 7 days a week. The cupboard has been restocked with new cards and bags for your convenience, with diagrams above the freezer of what parts are needed for sampling. Do not put any antlers in the freezer that you want to keep, as they will not be returned. If you harvest an elk, moose, or caribou, Jeff will assist you in taking the proper samples so you can keep your skull. It is mandatory to submit a sample from any deer, elk, moose, or caribou if you want to qualify for year-end awards. If you harvest an animal outside of our area and submit a sample in another freezer, please take a photo of your submission card for proof. If you harvest an animal in the CWD management zone or out of province, please make sure to follow all transport regulations! If you harvest an animal in the mandatory sampling zone, please make sure you drop it at the nearest freezer in that area. Please read the current hunting regulations so you are familiar with any changes. The CWD program is working hard to get test results back as quickly as possible for our hunters, so please be patient. Make sure to take a photo of your card at our freezer for your records and to be able to check for test results online. Please fill out the page in the binder in the cupboard above our freezer for our club records, and in case of any errors that the sampling team may need to correct. Please read the current hunting regulations so you are familiar with any changes.

We also have a photo contest every year at the horn score where members can enter one photo from 2026 in each category of scenery, wildlife, or field. Photos must be in 5x7 size and in their original state (free of editing).

RANGE CLOSURE!!
The range will be closed on September 3rd from 9 am to 4 pm for a CBSA rental. Members may use the range after 4 pm. A reminder that you must close the gate every time you are at the range, this is for insurance purposes and to keep non members out. Please make sure to clean up after yourselves when using the range. Volunteers maintain the range, and it is not their job to clean up after you!

Given the scope and scale of wildfires currently burning in B.C., and to further protect public safety, recreational off-road vehicle use will be prohibited on Crown land in the Kamloops and Southeast Fire Centres, as well as parts of the Cariboo and Coastal Fire Centres. This prohibition is effective immediately, as of 12 p.m. (noon) on August 10, 2026.

🌲 Help preserve the forests and riding areas we all enjoy.

Every responsible decision makes a difference.

Before your next ride, please check local wildfire conditions, obey all closures and fire restrictions, and report any signs of wildfire immediately.

The trails will still be there when it's safe to ride.

Attention Anglers,

Due to higher than normal water temperatures, the decision has been made to close the Granby River and Tributaries to fishing from 12pm (noon) to 12am (midnight) from July 30 to September 15.
This means morning fishing is still permitted on the Granby, but nothing after noon.
