A friendly reminder to give our local wildlife plenty of space, especially at this time of year when many animals are caring for and protecting their young. If you encounter elk, admire them from a safe distance and never approach calves. Keeping your distance helps keep both people and wildlife safe. 🦌💚

The Vaseux Lake California bighorn sheep herd needs your voice.

A proposed aggregate quarry near Okanagan Falls is being considered on Crown land in an area identified by local conservation partners as important wildlife habitat, including winter range and traditional lambing habitat for bighorn sheep.

WSSBC is concerned about the potential impacts of long-term quarry activity, including blasting, crushing, hauling, road traffic, dust, noise, vegetation removal, and increased human disturbance.

We are asking members and supporters to submit comments to the Province and request that this application be rejected or deferred until a comprehensive wildlife and habitat assessment is completed.
